    Biab

Mash longer? I usually mash 70 to 75 min stirring every 20 min or so. I mill twice and mash at full volume.

    BIAB Notes

I only brew 2.5 gallon BIAB batches. I have a five gallon pot and a 3. gallon fermenter and a 3 gallon carboy. Depending on the final yield i get between 20-24 bottles of beer out of a batch. I can't drink a lot beer either and like ability to brew different batches.

    BIAB help

Not sure where the probe is as I don't own a pot with one. I have a 5 gallon pot that I do 2.5 BIAB batches that I mash on the stove and boil outside. I use a collapsable vegetable steamer opened all the way up on the bottom of the pot. I trimmed the legs off mine a little to get more room for...

Blonde Ale Squeeze My Lemon Summer Blonde

I did this as a 2.5 gallon batch a week ago and zested 2 lemons, it's finishing now at about 1.008 but testing the hydro sample I did not get much of a lemon taste. Maybe next time I will try the thin peel method.

First all-grain BIAB: IPA OG waaay too low

I run my grain through the mill twice. It's DIY at the brewshop. Would suggest not being afraid to open the pot and stir. Also a longer mash time may help. I stir it up every twenty minutes and usually mash for 70- 80.

    Magic Hat Clone question

The original recipe from the podcast discussion with the brewer called for 98 % Marris Otter 2 % Crystal 80 I had a pretty good experience using extract rather than fruit.

Pre-Made Bag for Brew in a Bag Method?

The best bet is to just make your own. Voile is cheap, has a fine mesh and durable. Two straight seams and the bag is done, fits your pot and lasts. One more seam and you have a pocket for a drawstring, it's really not that hard. I use a veggie steamer with the feet shortened in the bottom of...

Should i change my wort chiller?

4MM is a very small pipe, comparable to our 1/4 inch pipe. Most people here are using a larger diameter tube. Probably want 12-15mm tubing. 12 meter is ok but a little short. Here in the states use is closer to 16 meters. on the pot? 120 centimeters is close to 48 inches , that's big pot ,you...

    Tip for BIAB guys

Straddle the pot with a 6 ft ladder and use a pulley/rope from the top step?

Anyone else hate the Dos Equis commercials?

These commercials always make me laugh, along with the one with the hot chicks flanking the crazy Russian kissing his miniature giraffe.

    Complete noob-small batches

I am a small batch guy. 2.5 gallons tops. I have a 1 gallon smash going at the moment. Also not a big beer drinker due to health concerns, but i like to brew. It looks like a nice intro kit. If and when you decide to go bigger you would only be swapping out the bucket and lid. Everything else...

    Rhetorical Disfluencies that I Hate

Nothing wrong with a little french RSVP is OK by me. Bag vs Sachet, one just holds stuff, the latter imparts something to it's surroundings, the French are fun!!! Now aside from the one "R" one allowed here, IMHO- we know it's yours you wrote it IMVHO - just more pretentious YMMV - ?????
