Does anyone line their mash tun with a BIAB?

Wow! I wasn't expecting this much input. I love this site. It's good to see all the viewpoints and different setups this particular idea works with as well. I am using a 3 vessel single tier keggle system with Jaybird false bottoms and HERMS. I think I will get myself one of those bags made for...

Does anyone line their mash tun with a BIAB?

troglodytes, Thanks for the input. Seems like a way easier cleanup. I hadn't thought about a finer grind, another advantage to this method, as well as the boost in efficiency. Do you know if you use the 200 or 400 micron bag?

Does anyone line their mash tun with a BIAB?

Hello, I poked around a bit but couldn't find the answer to this question. Does anyone use a BIAB bag to line their mash tun for easier cleanup? If so, are there any other advantages or disadvantages to doing this? Seems so much easier to just pull out the bag of grains after the wort is pumped...

    Cleaning neck of carboy

So, I finished cleaning in preparation of brew day tomorrow. I noticed the neck of my carboy is all marked up from the metal handle of the carboy brush. Has anyone had this happen before? Will this easily clean off or is there something special I need to do? I haven't tried anything as of yet, I...

    Hop spider for keggle

Im looking to buy a hop spider or filter of some sort. I have a 15 gallon keggle for a boil kettle. I’d like one that I could use for brewing either a 5 or 10 gallon batch. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

    New March 815-PL not working

Got to the bottom of the issue. It was a wiring problem. I got it all buttoned up and I’m good to go. Thanks everyone for your input.

    New March 815-PL not working

I think I’ll check the connections to the cord this weekend. It came wired from the manufacturer, but hopefully it’s something as simple as that.

    New March 815-PL not working

Yes, they were both primed. I mounted them lower than the vessels and fed them from the bottom. I dont hear a hum or anything from it. I originally thought it was a bad outlet on the control panel, but when I switched the pump plugs at the outlets, the other one still worked, and this one did not.

    New March 815-PL not working

So, I'm in the process of building a brewig. Since I started, I've bought & sold a house and had a son & a set of twins. Needless to say, my time has been limited. I'm about 98% finished, and attempted to run it through a test run. I have 2 March 815-PL pumps. One of them does not run. I tried...

Brutus style brew rig controls wiring issue

I will try that, thanks. Excuse my ignorance, but on the secondary side of the switch, would I have 2 wires (one to the hot side of the bus bar, one to the indicator)? And then, the secondary side of the indicator would go to the neutral bus bar to wire it in series?

Brutus style brew rig controls wiring issue

You are right. The diagram doesn’t show the indicator, since it was my addition. It is inline between the main switch, and the bus bar. I guess it is in series. Would there be another way to wire it? Like I said, I’m not an electrician, I thought this would work. Thanks for the reply.

Brutus style brew rig controls wiring issue

Here is a pic of my controller. I’ve also attached a pic of the wiring diagram I have been following which I got from brewgeeks.com. The only difference with my wiring is, I added the indicators after the switches as a reminder of which switch is activated.

Brutus style brew rig controls wiring issue

Hello. I’m building a Brutus style brew rig. I’m using 2 Auber SYL-2362 PIDs to control 2 Honeywell gas valves. I have power to the main switch of the control panel, which then goes to an indicator light, then feeds a bus bar to power everything else. When I flip the main switch, just the...
