    Brew stand build/BG-14 burner questions

The BG14 burner (on the top tier) that I'm putting in now will be adjustable. I'm drilling a series of holes in the side of the wind screen that will allow me to lower the burner 3 or 4 inches. I also think that you are correct that BG10's need to be further from the pot than BG14s. So when I...

    Brew stand build/BG-14 burner questions

That is what I was thinking. In inch would allow the heat to escape around the pot and still be high enough to block any wind. I took the valve off of the tank and filled it with water and let it sit a while. I did this a couple of times just to make sure all of the propane was out of the...

    Brew stand build/BG-14 burner questions

I'm building (welding) a three tier gravity fed brew stand using some scrap steel, a new BG14 burner and my existing BG10 burner. My plan is to replace the BG10 burner at some point down the road with a BG14, but I'm using it for now. Both burners will run on Propane. I have questions about...

I need help choosing more flexible beer lines.

I received the EVA tubing and its WAY more flexible than the Accuflex. The Accuflex is good stuff but its just too stiff for my application. Thanks for your input!

I need help choosing more flexible beer lines.

A couple years ago I made a kegerator out of a smallish apartment sized upright refrigerator. I was able to fit two 5 gallon and one 2.5 gallon kegs into it. I installed the three faucets through the door and used 3/16" Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra tubing for my beer lines. The Accuflex Bev-Seal...

I know this is an old post but Wow..... I'm interested in this tubing also and this was the only post that I could find on it anywhere! Has anyone used it? I'm currently using Bev-Seal Ultra Tubing and its just too stiff my my application. Every time I open the frig door I screw-up the lines...

    Still missing Brewtoad :(

I know its been taken down a while now, but I still miss it. Yes, there are other interesting recipe sites, but I have not found one that totally replaces it. With Brewtoad I could list the ingredients that I had on hand and it would suggest different recipes that used them. Does anyone know...

    DIY Brew Stand questions

I mainly brew 5 gallon batches. My HLT is an 8 gallon stainless pot. My mash tun is made from a 11 gallon water jug cooler with a copper pipe manifold (with slits cut into the bottoms of the pipes. I use an 11 gallon Bayou Classic stainless pot My brew kettle. I currently only have one BG10...

    DIY Brew Stand questions

I'm planning to build my long awaited brew stand. I've decided to build a three tier gravity fed out of steel and I'm not sure what type of steel to use that I should use. I'm torn between using old bed frames and scrap angle iron or possibly making it out of square tubing steel. If I use...

    CO2 Tubing?

I'm currently using braided hose for the CO2 lines in my kegerator, but they are just too stiff when cold. Unfortunately it is the only type the my LHBS has, so I have to order on-line. I'd like something more flexible, can anyone make a suggestion? Thanks!

Are you saying that 2-3/4" isn't enough?

    Brew Stand build questions

Has anyone used the CONCORD 10" Banjo Burner Head? It looks like the BG14, but its a tad cheaper. Rather that mount it from the tabs on the side, this one has screw hole under neath. Other than that, it seems the same. I'm planning to build a gravity fed, 3 tier brew stand. I'd be using...

    Questions about Pumpkin ale

I've never brewed a pumpkin ale, but the wife loves it so I've decided to give it a go. I found a recipe that uses canned pumpkins(I know why use canned when pumpkins are in season), that had good reviews, but no real instructions The recipe says to spread the canned pumpkin out (4 cans...

Autumn Seasonal Beer Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale (AG and Extract versions)

I'm thinking of brewing this recipe in a couple days and I'm confused on how much spice to use and when its best to add it. It seems like some add the spices to taste at the end before kegging....Is that true? This will be my first pumpkin ale ever...and I've been brewing about 25 years...

Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra beer line is just too stiff!!

I just built a 3 tap kegerator using a smallish upright Whirlpool refrigerator, the faucets are mounted on/thru the door and think that I used the wrong tubing. I used (15 ft per tap) 3/16" Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra beer line and I think that is it is just too stiff for my application. This...

Help!! Foam, foam and more foam!!

I thought an update is in order. Well as you know that I initially encountered a lot foam after reattaching my trusty party tap, so my brew was in fact overcharged. So I followed all your advice and turned off the CO2 and purged the gas through out the day and buy last evening I was getting...

Help!! Foam, foam and more foam!!

The keg and beer were both warm when I started force carbing. How do you force carb your beer? How should I "un-carb" this batch and how will I know when it is ready? I wish there was a cheap way of measuring the co2 level in the beer. I really appreciate everyones input on this.
