5.2 Cubic Foot Freezer Fermentor build

I found a dented 5.2 cu ft Arctic King at HD. They gave me $50.00 off, so I figured why not? I set up a Raspberry Pi with a DS18B20 waterproof temperature probe and an Adafruit FeatherWing (ADA3191) hooked into a power strip to control the freezer, a small fan to circulate air, and an always-on...

    Super cheap 5 gallon conical

Yes. It's painter's canvas from Home Depot. I folded it over, then cut a hole for the fermenter and nailed it to the frame.

    Super cheap 5 gallon conical

I've only run one batch through it, but trub settled just fine. The angle seems okay, it just all settles right into that 2" valve. On that first batch, I pulled trub about a week into the ferment, then a couple of days later harvested yeast. I lost my second batch yesterday, though. It...

    The Sewer Brewer

It's the same stuff you use for indoor supply plumbing. In other words, it's the same material your drinking water flows through. The only difference between drain and supply plastic is the pipe diameter.

    Super cheap 5 gallon conical

I wanted a 5 gallon conical, but I didn't wanna pay for one, so... It's a Fermonster, flipped on its head with some plumbing attached. Total cost was about $100.00 US.

    The Sewer Brewer

I posted this in the new member thread, but when I found this topic I figured I should post here as well. This is made from 4" PVC. A 2' section holds about 1 1/3 gallons, leaving plenty of room for headspace, especially after you add the 4" x 2" reducer and a 2" x 3/4" bushing, 3/4" brass...

Thanks! As to the Patent Pending, sure, why not? Now, I need to find some PVC that can handle high temps.... Give us a holler, Babe's is just up the street!

I thought no one would ask... The PVC thing is the SewerBrewer(tm). It's my one-gallon unit, and it's still in testing phase. Test batch should be ready to bottle this weekend. It has a 3/4" valve at the bottom, with a brass nipple connecting it to the body. The nipple allows me to screw the...

    Greetings from Roanoke, TX

Hi, all! My name is Mike. I'm a relatively new brewer. I was given a 5 gallon kit (buckets, pot, carboy, chiller, hoses and accessories) last winter, and I've been having fun ever since. So far, I've bottled 2 medium brown ales, 1 pale ale, and 1 FMB. I have one FMB and one pale ale...
