Let’s see you PLC Automation setup.

Very impressive thanks for sharing. That’s awesome, I’ve only dealt slightly with the automation direct plc’s how you like them? They are pretty popular, I run into one every now and then on jobs. I like the idea of a keg washer, I think you just added to my future to do list lol.

Let’s see you PLC Automation setup.

Guess there’s not a lot of PLC’s being used. Does anyone have a reccomendation for proportional Solid state relays that can be used with a 4-20mA signal? This is the main thing I’m unsure of and wondering what others are using for their heating elements. Thanks

Let’s see you PLC Automation setup.

Hey guys I’ve been planning on converting my system to an all electric rims system controlled via plc. I had a Micrologix1100 I originally slated to do the job but ran across a steal on eBay. I was able to purchase a nice stainless control panel with albeit older but much higher end equipment...

Can a PLC act as a web server?

Micro800 is a good basic plc series, the one downside is the software (connected components workbench) I have a lot of experience with rslogix 500 and rslogix 5000 so I’m not a fan. The software is free though so that’s a plus. The Micro820 runs about $260 and has built in Ethernet. I personally...

How long will milled conditioned grains last?

In the house at 68 degrees for two days if I recall correctly. I placed foil over the top of the bucket, if there was moisture I didn’t want to trap it.

How long will milled conditioned grains last?

Just brewed with the grain last night, we will see how it turns out. The grain didn’t smell off at all. To whom asked it was 16 1/2 lbs of grain conditioned before milling using a spray bottle. After milled it was almost flush with the top of the bucked so it did expand becuse the husks were...

Man I hope not. Might have to do an overnight brew tomorrow.

How long will milled conditioned grains last?

I can’t put them in the fridge the grains expanded after crushing and filled a 5 gallon bucket to the brim. It’s supposed to get cold tomorrow, overnight 25 degrees with a high of 58. I could seal the bucket and store it in the garage possibly, I was planning on keeping it inside where it’s...

How long will milled conditioned grains last?

Was planning on brewing tonight and decided to test out my new grain mill. I conditioned my grain with about 2% water of the total weight and milled it up. It went amazing I couldn’t believe how well the husks were preserved. Unfourtunatly I’m not going to brew tonight and maybe not even...

    Normal or infection?

Hello I just brewed a blond ale about two weeks ago and curious if this looks normal. This is only my second batch and I have never used this yeast before(wlp029). The beer doesn't smell bad and didn't taste bad when I took a sample 5 days ago. The white spots are what worry me but up close they...

    Kolsch yeast starter

Hey guys just have a quick question if this starter looks ok. I bought some WLP029 for a brew but stuff came up and it sat in my fridge for 3 weeks. Just made a starter yesterday and noticed shortly after pitching the yeast a substantial grey layer. I snapped some pics of the yeast today, as I'm...

    Cleaning glass carboy.

I was able to remove all debris before I used star San. Just wasn't sure if I should have used pbw as well. Here's a photo of the carboy with starsan. Thanks for all the input.

    Automation with Arduino

Will you have a HMI Screen for recipe setup and HOA control? I had thought about using a micro controller as the steps could easily be programmed and hardware would be cheaper but couldn't find a good solution for a hmi. Decided on a micrologixs plc, quicker to code (for me anyways) and plenty...

    Cleaning glass carboy.

So I brewed my first beer quite some time ago, it was a 5 gal citra ipa. Turned out great and the keg was killed in no time. At the time of kegging I didn't have a carboy brush so I lightly rinsed it out and put a cover over it. Long story short in the time it sat in the garage it grew a nice...

Finally, after 2 years it's built! My Automated EBrewery

Very nice what are you using for the foundation of your barn? I was looking into possibly buying a tuff shed but for the cost I could probobly build something much nicer.
