Too much Yeast Nutrient in starter?

I haven't brewed in a while and decided to do it right the first time back and make a yeast starter. I bought a kit with of Fermaid K (DAP) and mistakenly poured the whole 1oz/28g bag into my 1L of starter. Should I just start over, get more Yeast, and make a new starter or can I save the...

    Post your favorite pecan recipe

I think soaking the pecans in bourbon is a good idea if not for the flavor then just sanitizing them before putting them in the fermentor. Thanksgiving is coming up quick so I'm thinking of doing this one this weekend. Anyone else try it (or similar?)

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

I was a bit concerned about ripping the bag after cutting the holes so I used a grinder (actually a dremel with a grinder bit) to remove all the burrs and made the edges pretty smooth. I've done only 2 brews with this setup, but I haven't seen snags on the bag.

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

Here's my COFI Style eBIAB Kettle. It's using a Bayou Classic 1144 with heating elements using Disintegr8or's design. I'm using a Wilserbrewer bag and pulley. I bring in a ladder and put it on top of the stove to hoist the bag out when done with the mash. I cut a bunch of holes in the...

    Copper/Steel Galvanic Corrosion

I'm planning to build a continuous infusion mash arm for a eBIAB system as pictured below. Planning to use a Male NPT threaded steel cam lock to a Female NPT copper fitting. Should I be worried about galvanic corrosion where the copper connects to the steel? If so, what can I do to prevent it?

    Help with Mash Recirculation

@schiersteinbrewing: I'd like to make a part like this. I assume the end piece it just an off-the-shelf piece of copper tubing with some holes drilled in. Where can I find a piece of copper tubing with a blunt end like that? What do you call that kind of tubing?

    Hello from Silicon Valley

Been lurking on this forum for about 6 months since I began brewing and have found a ton of great info! I'm finally ready to join and hopefully participate a bit. My brewing story: My wife a 1 gallon wheat beer all-grain brew kit for Father's day. As I was making it, I was pretty sure it...

    Almost ready to brew!!!

Looks nicE! I just bought a Bayou Classic Kettle myself and plan to setup a recirculation system similar to what you've got. I see you've got a Brew basket down there so I'm guessing you're planning on doing BIAB? Did you get the steamer basket for the Bayou Classic? I'm wondering how well a...
