    Re-using commercial bottles

Thanks guys. Yes I have my own labels, however not all my friends brew however they never remember to return my bottles. So I figured it's better to use their commercial beer bottles to replenish mine.

    Help! Carboy plug fell in!

After putting my yeast I put my carboy plug in but pushed to hard and it fell down the neck of my plastic carboy. When I tried to get it out it slid into my beer. The plug was sanitized. Is it going to ruin my beer or give it a bad flavor? It's a citra pale ale. I imagine my carboy needs to be...

To save money I'm going to re-use commercial import style bottles (no twist off). I need to remove the labels, any ideas. Some of these bastards are on here good.

    Losing CO2

That helps a lot. What do you recommend the psi to be when I bottle. Does the neck space matter? Should it be more full half way up the neck, does it matter?

    Losing CO2

My bottles have been sitting for about 4 months. I opened several and they have a 1/4 of the carbonation from when I bottled them. How does a commercial Brewer keep the bottles carbonated so long? Is there a different way I should cap? How long should my bottle stay pressurized. I'm using a...

    Walk in cooler construction

I put the ac unit in and hooked it up to the coolbot. I got the cooler down to 31 degrees, which I had to fix so I didn't have all my beer explode. I still have to put up the FRP panels and it will be done

    Beer recipe

I'm trying to brew a a pale ale stout. I tasted one at a brewery near me and it was delicious. It was the color of a pale but had the taste and texture of a stout. I'm thinking of using coco nibs and coffee in a the secondary and I learned they used milk/lactose sugars during the boil. I heard...

    Walk in cooler construction

After covering each wall with plastic I place one layer of rigid foam in the walls. I did not use any epoxy to secure it to the plastic or the wall. I cut them big for a better fir and less gaps. With the fiber glass insulation and the foam it gives me a R rating of approximately 28.6.

    Walk in cooler construction

I used 2x6 because I was using rolled fiberglass R-19 insulation. This allows the proper space for the insulation to work properly. On my new walls I used 3/8's plywood on the outside. I stapled the insulation's backing to the studs. After filling the walls, I used contractors plastic to cover...

    Walk in cooler construction

    Walk in cooler construction

Alright Guys be patient with my posts I'm not sure how to post comments with the pics... Day two consisted of framing the existing 2x4 walls into 2x6. I used Lowes' 2x2's and nailed them to the existing 2x4's. And for the life of me was unable to turn the photo for the thread. I made sure to...

HELP!!!! Building a walk in cooler

Thanks Ray My space will be 14x7x4 with your formula i came up with 607 BTU. My A/C unit is 12,000 BTU's, and I knew it was really big for my space. Now this is probably really dumb question, but if I use R-9.6 Polyisocyanurate Rigid Foam Insulation Board along with the standard attic...
