    Fermenter thermowell

    I've just got my thermowell for my fermenter, should I fill the well with liquid first (H2O, oil) then insert the probe, or use it dry?

    CO2 Regulator keeps increasing??

    I just got a new CO2 regulator, I'll set it to a certain pressure (5psi) to dispense, but if I leave the gas on the pressure keeps increasing, after an hour it'll get up to 30psi. Did I buy a lemon or is there a fix for this, I tried de-pressurizing the keg, but the pressure just keeps creeping up.

    Notty pitching rates?

    One 11g pack of Notty is enough to do a 5gal(20l) batch. I recently bought a 500g pack of Notty, and it says to pitch 100g per 100l, therefore 20g per 20l(5gal), just wondering why the difference of pitching rates??

    Beer filtering

    Just tried to filter a batch of beer with a cartridge water filter, using a 1 micron nominal filter, I heard that this will make crystal clear beer -- but I don't see a difference from the unfiltered to the filtered!? Has anyone had any luck with this type of set up??

    Pump/filter set-up

    Does anyone use a pump and H20 filter set up to filter uncarbed beer? I've seen CO2 / filter transfers, but none using a march pump. My plan is to pump from my conical, through the march pump, into the filter then into a corny (using a valve to control flow and reduce chance of aeration)...

    Pneumatic Capper

    Just finished my pneumatic capper, waiting for compresser to try it out. Anyone have any ideas on PSI settings. I put in a flow control to regulate the speed. Hope I don't break too many bottles while tweaking the pressure and flow rates.

    Crankandstein not grinding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I just set up my new Crankandstein 328D mill, tried to run some grain through, but the grain just sits on top of the rollers. I tried just a little handfull, and the drive roller spins but the other 2 seem to get bound up with the grain and won't turn. Anyone else have this happen to them?

    Mill Speed?

    I've recently bought a Crankandstein 328D mill, the website recommends gearing it down to 200RPM. I have the equipment readily available to gear it down to 280RPM. Will the extra 80RPM have an effect on the crush?

    Filter suggestions?

    Beergun, CO2 purge

    Is it really nessecary to use the purge button on the Beergun? As the bottle fills with beer, it pushes the oxygen out. The only oxygen that would be in there would come from when you take the gun out of the bottle, and fill the head space (which would happen if it was purged anyway).

    Force carbing through the out port?

    Has anyone force carbed a keg through the out port of a cornie? Just wondering, it seems that the co2 would have better contact with the beer. Just a random thought.
