2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

Ok Gents, I have my controller all wired up. I did a test last night and I seem to have an issue with the elements not turning off when the PID isn't sending a signal. The elements are off when the push button is off which is correct. The button is pushed the selected contactor switches on...

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

Yeah I realized it’s redundant. I guess the selection and physically pushing a button is satisfying to me. I do plan to keep the PIDs maintained with power so they can be adjusted.

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

basically mimicking the SSbrewtech V2 econtroller. They have one illuminating push button that fires the element based on the PID that’s selected with the switch. In my case: 50amp controller, 2 PIDs (boil and rims) Boil PID selected: boil elements fire when button is pushed and illuminated...

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

Ok so below is a quickly drawn diagram that I hope solves my selector switch with a push button element on switch. Does this look correct? This would be a scenario where both PIDs have constant power but the selector switch selects the element assigned to the PID that it’s switched to. Is my...

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

Thanks! One side should be NO and NC correct? I might have more questions as I wire those up.

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

What I didn’t originally describe is one of the PIDs will be controlling 2 elements in my boil kettle and the other a rims coil element. One of the contactors splits off to two 30amp breaker and the other a single 30amp breaker.

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

I guess the PIDs can both stay on. I just want the selector switch to manage the single element button and want correct element to fire. I like the cleaner look than having individual element switches.

2 PID and 1 switch for Firing Elements

Hi, I’m looking for a wiring diagram for the below controller setup. 50amp controller with 2 PIDs and 2 SSRs. The PIDs will have a selector switch that turns on the PID that’s selected. I’d like to have a single stitch that fires the elements that has the selected PID on and assigned to its...

    Ss Brewtech econtroller wiring?

The E5CC has different models so not sure if the specific one used in the Brewtech has anything to do with it.

    Ss Brewtech econtroller wiring?

Does anyone have a diagram of how the Brewtech econtrollers are wired and what components are used? Any photos of the inside? Their website says our eControllers include a fully proportional PID output, which doesn't rely on SSR's or high speed switching to modulate heat. Which Omron E5CC...

3 Position Switch for 2 Elements?

I have 30 gal kettles. If I add a third element connection on my panel for the rims element is it possible to run 1 PID and use a switch to select which elements the PID runs? I currently have one ezboil PID in the panel. The two elements in the boil kettle would be ran together while the rims...

3 Position Switch for 2 Elements?

Really just extra flexibility with my system. Yes I have two element in same boil kettle but I’m also implementing a rims on my mash. Either way I’d have to unplug and plug in elements during my process since I only have to element plugs. I’m just playing around with how I can reconfigure my...

3 Position Switch for 2 Elements?

I current have a 2 position switch in a 50amp controller that switches two elements on or off. I would like to change it to 3 position so I can switch from OFF position to 1 element ON position or to both elements ON position. Can I do this? My current system is run on a single 80A SSR to one...

    Blichmann Brewcommander Customized?

Has anyone taken the screen and control board out of a Blichmann Brewcommander and put it in a custom built controller? Could you replace a PID controlled controller with the control board and touchscreen of the Brewcommmander? I have a 50a system that runs two 5500w elements off of a single...

1 PID controlling to 2 Elements Wiring

Yep. I had the wiring wrong between the contactor and breakers. Dummy mistake.... It's firing now though!! Thanks!

1 PID controlling to 2 Elements Wiring

So I have the panel all wired up. I tested with one element connected in a kettle of water but the element wont fire. I know i'm getting power to the element but it wont fire for some reason. I've tested the element plugs with multimeter and get 120v from ground to each pole but get no reading...

1 PID controlling to 2 Elements Wiring

If I were to reduce the SSR and Contactor to one each I'd still need two 30A breakers, right? between the 50+ contactor and element receptacles. If so I'd need two wires coming from each post of the contactor to the breakers, correct? I've attached a quick drawer to confirm if this is correct...

1 PID controlling to 2 Elements Wiring

Hello, I've searched and couldn't answer my questions. I'm building a 1/2 barrel 2 vessel system. The 50a controller will have 1 pid to control 2 5500w elements simultaneously in the boil kettle with one switch to turn the elements on/off. My question: Do I wire the elements through each...
