    Introducing… the Spike FLEX!

I have a CF10. I just checked and it also says "do not lift when full" When I first got the CF10 for the first few batches in it I lifted it into a upright freezer while full without any problems. At over 100 lbs full it is not easy or would I recommend it but the handles held up just fine. I do...

    Bud Light "ingredients label" commercial

The reason they are listing the ingredients on the package is so they can list the calories. The next step will be showing how much better bud is for you. They will compare the calories in a bud lt to a imperial stout and give the impression that all craft beers are higher in calories.

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

I do not think your wife would be happy with this outside your open bedroom window. I have in my garage and can hear it inside when the compressor turns on.

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

I purchased the Icemaster 100 form Morebeer and have been using it for several weeks. Morebeer offers a 60 day return and I am considering returning it. However the return shipping will be high. I do not recommend the Icemaster 100. First the good: It arrived about 1 week after ordering...

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

I went and ordered one also. I have had it about a week and have been running it with water in my conical to get an idea how well it works. I have been talking to Morebeer about several issues. I will post a full report along with their responses next week.

    Pot Size

The boil kettle should be at least double the final volume you are trying to produce. You can get by with smaller but why would you want you. If you go smaller there will be times you wish your kettle was bigger. I have never wished my 20 gal kettle was smaller. It is less expensive to get a...

Fermented under pressure, closed loop transfer, spunding valve on keg

I transfer fully carbonated beer from the conical to the keg without using a spunding valve with any problems. I drop the pressure in the conical to about 6 psi, push the beer into the keg through the liquid post and attach a line from the gas post into a bucket of starsan. The beer is at...

About to enter first contest ... advice welcome!

schematix is right on. Enter the beer in the correct category. Not what you intended to make but enter in the category that the beer you made best fits in to. If its in the wrong category your feedback will not be useful when it comes to making better beer. Comments such as too hoppy for style...

    Kegging Keezer Noob Problem

Is your beer going totally flat after 2 weeks or is just not as carbonated as you would like? As soon as you drop the pressure from 11 psi to 8 psi the carbonation level of the beer will start dropping. Is it possible you simply like the carbonation level better at 2.5 vol than you do at 2.3 vol ?

Food Grade CO2 vs. Industrial CO2

Keep in mind the obvious. Oxygen and CO2 are not the same gas. Oxygen cones in several grades ( aviation, medical, and industrial ). Oxygen is Oxygen it is all the same, the difference is in the testing and record keeping (and price). For example aviation grade is tested for moisture while...

    Pump recommendation

I have both a Chugger and a March. They are not self priming but I have never had any issues with them. The March is quieter but I would recommend either one.

    Counter Flow Chiller Needs

I use an IC with a pump and it works great, at least in the winter. From June - September it works ok but only because I prechill the water going into the IC. This will get me down to about 80. I am in Oklahoma so my ground water is not much cooler than yours. I find it quite easy to clean...

Final Gravity Help - Three Instruments, Three Different Readings

Hydrometers are best once alcohol is present. You need to check each Hydrometer for the temperature it is celebrated for. Then get some distilled water that is the correct temperature and check your reading. It should be 1.000. If the calibration is off adjust your readings by that amount.

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

Thanks for the replies. Right now I am leaning toward the Penguin. Mainly because of good experiences from other HBT members. I was hoping for some firsthand reviews from someone who has that unit. Morebeer return policy is 60 days so I am also considering being the guinea pig and if it I am...

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

    Radar Detectors

I have been using escort radar detectors since I bought the original Passport in 1980. I currently have a 9500iX That I have been using for several years. I recently bought a Escort IV for my wife and have been impressed with it so far. It was on sale for $399 when I bought it for her and I...
