Just bought this STC 1000 off of Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OXPE8U6/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 It's a ferinheit model dual relay. Tried it out and works perfect. Heating and cooling.

Just brewed an oatmeal stout on Sunday and used the Zchiller for the first time. It got the boiling wort into my conical at 69 degrees in under 8 minutes. With 63 degree ground water. Was really impressed. Little pricey but well worth it and looks really cool too.

Came in the mail a day after I brewed. But I tested it out with 5 gallons of boiling water and it got it down to 70 with 65 ground water in under 4 min. Looks like it will be a nice addition and way better than my 50' immersion chiller.

I had the same issue about a year ago. Same setup as you have. My problem was the fitting beneath the false bottom was really close to the cooler. I just cut some slots in it with a hacksaw about 1/2" long and my next batch went perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew
