    Hop Devil Done

Should be ready by Christmas! When I made it 3 weeks ago I also made dog biscuits for the mutts from a recipe from this website. Mutts love them! Beer came out good, FG came out on target. I noticed with my last beer, Moose Drool, it tasted really good at around 5 weeks in the bottle. This will...

    Cheers! My first home brew!

My Moose Drool Clone.....came out good! Dark, nutty flavor. I was nervous....son and his fiance came over for dinner. Had some chillin in the fridge, just waiting. They tried it and loved it! I am proud because I stink at cooking (but tonight I did good....how can you screw up a...

    Bottle it today

Yeah, I need to get a cheap cooler. And I need to read about bottle bombs. I just read horror stories but need to know why they happen....temp, too much sugar? I have had commercial brews that shot out at me when opening. I don't want to get injured or waste precious beer! I will wear safety...

    Bottle it today

Thanks! These are in my basement living room so temps should stay at 70 down there. Too hot up stairs on sunny day and too much sunlight upstairs. I can't wait to try one! Been saving bottles from my beers that I buy at the store. In a couple of weeks I am gonna make another batch. I will keep...

( advice ) wife doesn't like me home brewing

Definitely sit down and do a budget. We did that and we know what we can and cannot do. My mother in law lives with us and we do have differences. One good thing, she has her own setup, completely private from us but she will come over whenever she pleases. Just had to have a talk with her the...

    Bottle it today

It's been around 3 weeks since the Moose Drool clone has been sitting in the primary. Full gravity reading supposed to be 1.015 and I'm close - 1.016. Bottled it today! Tried a little taste - so far so good - tastes like beer w/out the carbonation so hopefully after I added that stuff...

Strange question..... How to Make Non alcoholic beer?

Nice but I have to have ZERO sauce in it. He won't even use mouthwash with alcohol in it. I like him better w/ no alcohol in him LOL. But he likes me with alcohol - go figure LOL!

OK, so I made up my mind

Yes, around 3 weeks. All that trub or whatever it is that sinks to the bottom won't effect it, right?

Strange question..... How to Make Non alcoholic beer?

Me again. I know this must be a strange question but is there a way to make homemade NON alcoholic beer? Reason I ask is because my husband does not drink alcohol. However he LOVES beer. He just had way too many back in the day :tank: and has been off the sauce for 15 years. Whenever we...

OK, so I made up my mind

Did I say how glad I am to find this forum?:rockin: After posting about whether or not to rack into a secondary glass carboy and reading all of the valuable information here from all of you expert brewers, I have decided to just let my beer (Moose Drool - Ale) sit in the primary bucket. The...

Took a hydrometer reading and YUMMY!

Might rack to a carboy when I return if gravity is still the same because then I need the bucket to make another batch. This is addicting :-)

Took a hydrometer reading and YUMMY!

Yep, checked it with distilled water first before I took the first gravity reading last Friday right before I closed the lid. I can take another one on Friday but am leaving for a trip and won't be back until Monday. It can wait for a 3rd reading until Monday, right?

Took a hydrometer reading and YUMMY!

:D My brew has been in the plastic bucket since last Friday. The airlock wasn't bubbling by Sunday. So today I decided to take a peek :-) I lifted up the lid. There must have been Krausen but it wasn't on top yet there was a good mess of foam around the inside rim. I sanitized a turkey baster...
