I did a beef roast. Dry rub then low smoke up to 185, wrap in foil with a cup of broth, then up to 205 to shred.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I wasn't trying to exaggerate per se. It takes an extra pound of grain per brew and hit the same numbers (1.051 OG) at 8 Gallons. Not a big deal certainly except with really heavy stouts and such of which I don't brew much. I am getting used to the system and dialing it in. Just feels so weird...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Did another system test with water, then with a brewday. At 55% power with the 9gph spray tip I am only boiling off .5 Gallons per hour. It is ok, but man do I need a lot of grain for these batches compared to open boil.

Mango Pale Ale Recipe with Magnum & Nelson Sauvin

I do a watermelon gose that is one of my favorites that I brew. The only downside is that watermelon flavor doesn't last long so you have to drink it quick.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Ok. I guess I am just hoping that I can dial it in closer I guess. Going to be pretty challenging on high gravity beers. Before the steamslayer i was boiling off 1.5 gph at 77% power. This brew, I boiled off just under .5 gph at 50% power. I only gained 3 gravity points which isn't ideal. On 5...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Hi guys. Hoping I can tap into the brain trust for help tuning my new steam slayer. I ran my first batch today with the new widebody steam slayer and the 9gph attachment (though it outputs closer to 13 gallons in my hour long boil. I have this running on a ssbrewtech 2v 15 gallon kettle with...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Got mine installed (drilling through the SS Brewtech Kettle was a bear even on my drill press with a cobalt pilot bit). I am doing the maiden voyage on Saturday with my Oktober's Fist (Octoberfest) recipe.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Hey. I just got my new widebody steamslayer and want to install it today. I bought the weldless bulkhead to add as well. The site says use a 40mm bit but all I have is a 42mm. Do you think that will work or should I wait and order a 40mm?

Hey everyone. Somehow I didn't see this thread. I've been brewing for about 7 years and baking sourdough every weekend for the last year. Fun, complementary hobbies.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Hey everybody. I was having a hard time deciding between this option and overhead ventilation. I stumbled on a scratch and dent range hood and went that way... cut through wall and ceiling and out through a roof vent. Long story short.... total disaster. Tons of steam condensing and dripping...
