    First Hopbursting Recipie Advice

Next week I plan to try my first "hopbursted" IPA next week and I can't wait. I would welcome advice on hop schdeule and general recipie advice. I am going for that tropical citrusy hop aroma/flavor bomb without enough IBUs to make my family cry. I still have some experimental "lemon drop" hops...

    Importance of Belgian style bottles?

I am ready to bottle my first belgian strong ale and I have another fermenting away. Do I have to use belgian style bottles with corks and a cage for carbonation purposes or is that just tradition? Will normal beer bottles or the swing tops work okay without the possiblity of bottle bombs? The...

    Hops "Cousin"

Has anuone ever thought about or attempeted to dry "hop" with the hops aromatic cousin (especcially those living in colorado or washington)? I think there are a lot of great flavors and aromas similiar to hops but different enough any hop head would sit up and take notice. If you don't know...

    1388 Wyeast Belgain strong ale

I stared my first Belgain beer about four weeks ago using 1388 wyeast, using a batch we started a couple of days before brewing. It started out fermentation strong and then started and stop fermenting like I heard it would. It started out about 18.5 brix. I have taken three other readings since...
