    Splitting batch into 1 gallon secondarys?

    I'm not very familiar with the Mr Beer equipment but from what I've seen it doesn't look like it has an airlock, also you dont want too much headspace in your secondary. The less contact with oxygen the better. I'd suggest picking up a few 1 gallon growlers and throw some airlocks on them?

    I don't have the ability to cold condition....fermentation chamber is on the list. Unless putting it in a swamp cooler packed with ice might work? How much gelatin should I use? Does it need to be sterilized before adding it?

    Hey everyone, I am want to bottle this as soon as I can but it's not as clear as I'd like. Yeast is Wyeast 2565, pitched it March 23. Fermented at 59 degrees OG was 1.046, FG is 1.012 today. Tastes great! What are the chances of it clearing if I let it sit longer?

    Hey everyone, I've got the same results with this strain. Krausen hasn't dropped yet and it's been three weeks. The blow off is still bubbling but I have to secondary anyways to dry hop. If it hasn't quite finished yet is it OK to transfer and dry hop?

    I went with the Wyeast 1272. Pitched it late Sunday evening and had lots of airlock activity about 18 hrs after, settled down after about 2 days. I'll take a gravity reading in a couple of days just to see where it is at.

    Yeah I don't think I will be buying anything else with a spigot unless its a bottling bucket! Do you ferment with your Better Bottles??

    Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll do a little research about the Wyeast, looks like a pretty cool product. I guess after I have a few more brews under my belt I'll have a better idea of what works best for me...
