    So when I first started brewing, everything I read and heard said doing a starter is the best way to go. All of my batches have began with a yeast starter on a DIY stir plate . Is there an advantage to doing a starter over direct pitching or what? What say you brewing gods?

    My first Batch!

    So I'm so green I make lettuce look pale! My first batch going in the pot next week. Here is what I've come up with. 4 lbs Amber DME 1 lb light DME 1 oz cascade @60 min. Boil 1oz citra at 5 min. Windsor yeast. What do you think? Should I add anything ? Just looking for a smooth beer to start.
