You know you're a home brewer when?

Might get some BOOS for this... But being a Coloradoan, toured the Coors brewery in Golden when we we were up there a week ago. Say what you will about BMC, but it's a super impressive facility.

You know you're a home brewer when?

Rinsed out each bottle as we went that night, but the labels (mostly Victory) were too hard to take off... So they've been soaking for a few days.

You know you're a home brewer when?

When you're up til nearly 1 on that same Tuesday night (Wednesday now I guess), and after you finish delabeling bottles, you decide you should slice/freeze the peaches your mom gave you this weekend, because there super ripe, and you're going on a trip for your anniversary this weekend, so you...

You know you're a home brewer when?

When you're up close to midnight on a Tuesday, delabeling 30 empty bottles from a get together this past weekend, because, well...when else are you going to do it?

Difference Between Toasted and Roasted Barley

Thanks for the good advice dudes! The wort sample was delicious (ended up adding 1 lb amber DME as well, to try and kick up the ABV). The color was not nearly as dark as I had feared. I guess 1/2 lb of the (steeped) RB wasn't much. Tucked away safely fermenting now, and I can't wait to try it!

Difference Between Toasted and Roasted Barley

So, total noob question. Just bought ingredients to make the No Sham Shamrock Irish Red recipe, in Charlie P's Book. It calls for 1/2 lb of Toasted Barley. I did not see Toasted Barley at the LHBS, so I bought 1/2 lb of Roasted Barley instead, but was thinking it looked awfully dark to make a...

You know you're a home brewer when?

+1 except riding the bike instead of driving the truck. LOVE the truck, but pushing the pedals not only helps save money for brewing, but also makes me feel less guilty about all the home brew consumption.

Pretty sure I won't lose any sleep over it. Just posting my own dissenting opinion...which is that you're a snob. Off to buy some PBR after work. Sorry for partying.

FREE BEER AT WORK!!! possibly expired?

Obviously, if I'm spending my time and money to brew something, I'm going to try to make something that tastes delicious, and will take care in selecting my ingredients. Just like when I go to the Beer Store, I pick out a six pack of something that I think is going to be great. However, if...

FREE BEER AT WORK!!! possibly expired?

Maybe it's because I'm a Noob, and still haven't developed the "these ingredients aren't good enough for me" attitude yet, but I would definitely give this a shot. I'm sure it's not going to be AMAZING, but it will most likely turn into an Alcoholic beverage that you can drink. :drunk: And...

Belgian Tripel Belgian Trippel (2006 World Beer Cup Gold Medal: Dragonmead Final Absolution clone)

This recipe looks awesome. Thanks for posting. I have been "Brewing" for a few months with a Mr. Beer kit I got a while back, while slowly accumulating the equipment to make a 5 gal batch, and reading everything I can get my hands on about beer. I am chomping at the bit to start a batch, but...
