    Fermentation???

So, I did a Milkstout almost 3 weeks ago. I popped the lid to see how it was coming cuz I never witnessed a ton of action in my air lock. This is what it looked like. There is some evidence on the side that some bubbling probably took place, but just doesn't seem like a lot happened here...

    Imperial Pale Ale fermenting question

Recently did a imperial pale ale! Fermentation went well and has been in for about 2 1/2 weeks. Based on previous posts and feed back from other posts, I was going to leave this in fermenter for about 3 maybe even 4 weeks. Is that a fair assumption or should I bottle this weekend! Final ABV...

    Too Much Carb!

So I'm now drinking my first two brews! A Russian Imperial Stout and a standard IPA! The RIS is awesome and so is the IPA, but the IPA has a crazy carbonated head to every bottle so far! Any suggestions on why the head is so strong and the carbonation and crazy head??

    Extract IPA Cloudy w/ Sediment

So I just bottled my IPA and I noticed that there was way more sediment coming through the siphon then unexpected when transferring to bottling bucket! Beer seemed a tad darker/cloudier then expected! Noticed too my bottling wand was getting clogged! ??????

    Bottle Caps

Can I boil the bottle caps to sanitize? Or should I just throw them in the dishwasher? Or can I rinse them with StarSan solution? Thanks!

    Bottling question!!!

I have an IPA that I put to fermentation in my bottling bucket......sealed up nice and tight! Checked a reading today and its ready to bottle! Noticed some floating hops and what not in the beer! Will these clog the pour spout when I go to bottle! Thanks for your feedback. Cheers!

    Ok! This one's bugging me!

I have brewed a Russian Imperial Stout 2 weeks ago, and I brewed just a basic IPA last week! Question is on 2nd fermentation! Do I move it/them over to a carboy? Do I leave them in the primary and go straight to the bottle? I know the RIS is a really big beer & could be left in the primary for...

    Unsure if fermentation took place!!

I brewed last Sunday, and then worked out of town all week and just got home! Since I was gone, I didn't actually witness any action in my airlock! I've attached a pic! What do you think!

Ok! Wha'ts going on! Or, what is not going on?

Ok! So I brewed last week and just wanted to peek and see if everything was going on nicely! I open up my bucket, and it looks exactly like it did when I put it in there! Is this a wasted batch? And, what could I have done wrong????

    Top Off Water

I recently finished brewing 2.5 gallons of wort and to get to my 5 Gallons, I used tap water! The water quality for us isn't bad.....but just the same....did I compromise my brew by doing this??

    Fermentation.....not seeing bubbles!

I brewed on Sunday and tonight ( Wednesday night) I noticed that my primary didn't have any bubbles being released through the airlock! Is this a bad sign? Did I jack something up? What could have I done wrong......or is it still fermenting and I'm just not seeing it?

    How long for primary??

I am brewing a Russian Imperial Stout (my first time brewing too). It says to primary ferment for 5-7 days, then to secondary in the glass carboy! However, much of what I've read says to leave it in the primary for two weeks. What should I do??
