    Over Carbonation or Infection?

If it has alcohol in it, it won't freeze at 32.

    Over Carbonation or Infection?

Omega Yeast British Ale I Yeast attenuates 70-80%. I do not believe it could possibly go from 1.067 to 1.002 with that yeast and no infection.

MalFet's bottle washer for lazy homebrewers

The water is about 130 degrees. The commercial model has more pressure and less flow. I don't think the commercial one is necessarily better but it sure is easier. While I like to improvise and make things from scratch, the cost and convenience of the Morewine set up makes it not worth the...

MalFet's bottle washer for lazy homebrewers

I have used a superior 91250 1/4 HP pump for 2 years in a sink filled directly from the hot water tank and have had no problems with hot temperatures. However I have replaced my homemade copy of MalFet's bottle washer with a MoreWine Bottle Rinsing Base and Bottle Rinsing Rack...

    The "Dear" , "Sincerely" thread

Dear Beer Judge at the 2014 COHO Spring Fling, 8+3+16+3+8=38 and not 35 as the total was shown on my scoresheet. Sincerely, Hefeweisen Entry #0127 BTW: I still wonder that if the scores were added up correctly, would it have medalled.

Chest Freezer with temp controller vs mini fridge fermentation chamber

I have a freezer and a refrigerator for fermenting and lagering. The refrigerator is far better at keeping moisture from building up.

    Home brewery

There are many breweries operating out of buildings on the same property as their home, but it is illegal to sell beer made in your home. C.F.R. Title 27: Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms §25.21 Restrictions on location. A brewery may not be established or operated in any dwelling house...

    Las Vegas beer scene: good/bad?

I never have any trouble finding great beer to drink in Vegas. Aces & Ales on Tenaya has 50 beers on tap and 150 different bottle beers, and not one of them is a Bud Miller or Coors. From the Freakin Frog Website: Las Vegas' 1st Craft Beer Bar and the largest beer bar in America with...

Anyone have a True beverage cooler?

I have a True Kegerator. I got it for free off of craigslist because it wouldn't cool. I replaced the thermostat for $40 and it works great. Very simple and easy to work on. It doesn't cost much to run, however, because it is a commercial appliance, it is louder than a regular refrigerator.

    Lagering Temperature Fluctuations

I have a large commercial refrigerator that I would like to use for lagering. When the thermostat is set to 35 degrees, the air temperature inside the refrigerator fluctuates between 31 and 39. I know the temp of the beer will not rise and fall as fast as the air it is in but, will this be a...

    Whirlpool Chilling Questions

I make 10 gallon all grain batches with a keggle for boil kettle. I use an immersion chiller. I recently added a pump to whirlpool while chilling following the "Whirlpool/Immersion Chiller" article on MrMalty.com. The whirlpooling made it cool down much faster but after...
