    Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice on brewing and the pictures of builds they have done. This is my 3rd batch, a Sierra Nevada clone, out of the keezer I built and it is so good! I can't believe I made it! This forum and the people in it helped me tremendously! Thank you and cheers!

    Temperature probe location in keezer

    Where does everyone position the probe from the thermostat in their keezers? I have mine in a mason jar filled with water at the bottom. Is it better to have it in water or measuring the temperature inside the keezer?

    What is a keggel?

    Maybe a dumb question, but I have searched this site and haven't found an answer. What is a keggel for? Is it just a larger brew pot or is it for all grain brewing only. I'm asking because I was given an empty keg and I'm wondering if I can do something to it to make a larger brewing pot.

    Dry hopping

    My first batch has been fermenting over a week now. I am only doing a primary fermentation and my question is this: can I wait until 2 weeks, check for FG, and if done, add dry hops and then wait for 3 weeks and bottle? Or should I wait 3 weeks then dry hop for a week?

    First batch question

    So I brewed my first batch this weekend. Everything went well and it is fermenting away. My question is with the dry hops. Do I wait until I reach FG, then add the dry hops for 5-7 days? I am only using a primary and will start checking for FG after 2-3 weeks. Thanks!
