    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

I almost bought a 6 pack of pumpking tonight after work. Is that the one blended with cranberry juice? This is the 2nd pumpkin beer I've made. The first one I boiled the pumpkin and used no spices and it was amazing. Perfect orange color and great pumpkin taste. Can't find the recipe though. I...

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

After two weeks I racked this beer to secondary last weekend and I am a little disappointed in the lack of pumpkin taste as well as color. If it were not for the spices I'm not sure people would be able to tell its a pumpkin beer. I baked the pumpkin for 45 mins. I may try this again but will...

    Pressure test for corny kegs

I usually just pump them full of CO2. Since you have to clean and sanitize them you could leave the sanitizer in the kegs and put the co2 on them and turn them upside down till its time to keg

    Losing gas

Normal. Wipe some keg lube around the ring and seal the keg by cranking your CO2 up. I go as high as 50psi to ensure a good seal

Preparing Strawberries for addition to wheat beer

I planted 60 strawberry plants this year to make wine. Not sure how many lbs ill get since they are first year plants but hoping to have enough left over to make a strawberry wheat beer. I also have a big peach tree in the backyard I'm going to utilize. I also just planted a bunch of pumpkin...

    First time washing yeast

Was a success! I washed and pitched some 1056 from an amber ale I kegged into my first SMASH beer. 14 pounds 2-row with Chinook hops. I was a little worried but it seems to have taken off. All I did was boil the water and cool it down the. Dumped it in my fermenter and stirred up the sludge and...

    Centennial SMaSH IPA

I'm planning on doing a centennial smash with 14 pounds of two row tomorrow. Also going to try to wash and pitch some 1056 yeast after I keg my amber ale tomorrow. First time trying that hope it works. I have a pack of US-05 on hand just in case.

    Washington State Beers

Ill challenge that. Paradise Creek Brewery's Northwest Pale ale. Not only the best pale ale I've had but the best beer I've ever had. It took me months to clone it and a guess on the yeast but I did it. Now I have it on tap at all times

    Pressure problem

I have 3 kegs and two gas lines ran from my co2 tank. The lines are split with a plastic T. I've noticed when I turn the gas off and bleed it from one keg to bottle from it the gas from the other keg equalizes between the two kegs. If I buy one of those 3 or 4 gas line manifolds will that solve...

    Best price on bulk grains?

That's a good idea. I bought it at an ace hardware with a Homebrew aisle inside it. But the store is 150 miles away. I was in yakima for work so I won't have regular access to prices like that

    Best price on bulk grains?

What's the best price you have paid for bulk grains in a group buy? I picked up a 50lb bag of 2-row yesterday for $30 an was wondering if a group buy would be cheaper than that or if I should keep buying it this way

    saving money with brewing

Whenever I make a beer I think of how it tastes and how much I enjoy it. Then I envision buying it in a store for $12 a 6 pack. Then I look at how much I spent to make 5 gallons of it. Always a huge savings.
