    In secondary too long?

    I had brewed a recipe and put it in the primary fermenter for 10 days, then put it into a clean sanitized secondary where it remains, and will until I get home in about a month, so that'll be almost 7 weeks in the secondary. Is that too long?

    Dry hopping early

    So, my black IPA recipe says that active fermentation will be done in about 7days(brew day was Friday), well it's Wednesday, and it looks like active fermentation is done. Is it too early to dry hop? Or should I wait til Friday?

    So, I brewed my first batch on Friday, it's a black IPA, now I have a few questions, I was impatient and instead if buying a proper airlock, I just used a balloon, which seems to be doing the job, is this going to effect the flavor of the beer? I'm keeping it in my garage while it ferments...
