Update: I could not find anything at the local Ace, HD, or Lowes that would remotely work. I bought the kit from my post above. I will update to let anyone know if this works with the larger diameter for anyone that buys the new coolers.

Upgrading my old mash tun to a new 10 gallon Igloo (home depot) cooler. I was going to use my old fittings, but the hole size of the new Home Depot coolers are 1". Went to the depot and lowes to look for fittings, but no luck. I came across this which may be worth buying...

Not at all. Stored outside normal side up for over a year, seriously no issues whatsoever. Might have displaced it a little, but not too sure. As it happened with both containers my theory is that they simply don't like to be stored upside down. All grain brewing in small apartment problems...

It is definitely from the weight of whatever is in the storage container on the gasket lid creating a small gap to allow moisture in. With them standing upright there is no issue of the gasket being crushed and deformed.

Ideally they would be stored inside, but I moved to a smaller apt with not so much indoor space...

It was flat, flipped over 180 degrees. I hope this is a lesson for all who may search this topic online...

I store my grain outside all year, no issues, ever, for years. I was sick of having the top lid fill up with water and get nasty. I researched online and it seemed to be ok to store these upside down. WRONG (If you store these outside)!!! I have the 50 lb containers When I went to brew today...

I doubt you could damage the interior of the corny with oxi clean. I've let it sit for periods of time with zero issues. I would try soaking again with really hot water, then rinse

Thanks for the ideas. I just wired it straight (AC/DC adapter to fan) and the stir bar spins perfectly with 1L. Goes good for about 1 min. Then the speed increases and it jumps off. The speed adjuster is definitely not working/wired correctly. I just ordered a real rheostat so maybe that will...
