Igloo Mash Tun Conversion - New/Larger Hole Size?

Update: I could not find anything at the local Ace, HD, or Lowes that would remotely work. I bought the kit from my post above. I will update to let anyone know if this works with the larger diameter for anyone that buys the new coolers.

Igloo Mash Tun Conversion - New/Larger Hole Size?

Upgrading my old mash tun to a new 10 gallon Igloo (home depot) cooler. I was going to use my old fittings, but the hole size of the new Home Depot coolers are 1". Went to the depot and lowes to look for fittings, but no luck. I came across this which may be worth buying...

Don't store vittles vault upside down!!!

Not at all. Stored outside normal side up for over a year, seriously no issues whatsoever. Might have displaced it a little, but not too sure. As it happened with both containers my theory is that they simply don't like to be stored upside down. All grain brewing in small apartment problems...

Don't store vittles vault upside down!!!

It is definitely from the weight of whatever is in the storage container on the gasket lid creating a small gap to allow moisture in. With them standing upright there is no issue of the gasket being crushed and deformed.

Don't store vittles vault upside down!!!

I store my grain outside all year, no issues, ever, for years. I was sick of having the top lid fill up with water and get nasty. I researched online and it seemed to be ok to store these upside down. WRONG (If you store these outside)!!! I have the 50 lb containers When I went to brew today...

    Did I ruin my Corney?

I doubt you could damage the interior of the corny with oxi clean. I've let it sit for periods of time with zero issues. I would try soaking again with really hot water, then rinse

Fans of Limbo IPA Out There?

Good to know that it was close! Even if it's not exactly Limbo, it's still going to be pretty darn tasty. I will also move the chinook to the dry hop.

Fans of Limbo IPA Out There?

I just went straight off their website and taste. All I know is that this stuff STINKS (In a good way), Just blasts you with Aussie hops. Didn't have any wheat malt on hand so I left it out. I am also curious how much they really put in. Let me know how the kidnapping goes :D And we can all...

Stir Plate Wiring Help - Fan Speed Not Working

The old CPU fan controller was junk (thank you china ebay).... I went to radioshack bought a 25 ohm rheostat and a knob. Violah :) It works like a gem. Hooked everything up and it's now sitting pretty with a rocker on/off switch and speed controller. Beware of chinese knock offs.... Should of...

Stir Plate Wiring Help - Fan Speed Not Working

Thanks for the ideas. I just wired it straight (AC/DC adapter to fan) and the stir bar spins perfectly with 1L. Goes good for about 1 min. Then the speed increases and it jumps off. The speed adjuster is definitely not working/wired correctly. I just ordered a real rheostat so maybe that will...

Stir Plate Wiring Help - Fan Speed Not Working

True about if it spins... don't mess with it. I am using a 6V charger. Maybe the CPU fan controller has too much internal resistance to not even do anything?

Stir Plate Wiring Help - Fan Speed Not Working

All, Putting together a stir plate from spare parts (like most everyone has done). I wanted to wire everything up before I soldered and put into my project box. The fan is spinning no problem, but the fan speed controller does not seem to do anything at all. It is not your typical...
