Can someone share a link to a good video on how to get into all grain brewing?

This is what made me realize that I could tackle AG brewing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mKWxZG2oDc

WLP630 in 10 Gals. - Starter, or Underpitch?

In the end, I decided to just do a single five-gallon-plus batch. Boiled 5.5 gallons of water, killed the heat, added 4 lbs of wheat DME, returned to boil, and added an ounce of 3.9%AA Hallertau hops for 10 minutes. Chilled to ~70F, drained to fermenting bucket and pitched the WLP630, which I'd...

WLP630 in 10 Gals. - Starter, or Underpitch?

Okay, let me boil it down (pun intended) to a simple question: what do you think about splitting a single vial of WLP630 between two 5-gallon batches of 1.031 kinderweisse?

And just like that, we're not on the SOC.

WLP630 in 10 Gals. - Starter, or Underpitch?

I'm planning to do a 10 gallon extract batch of Berliner-style kinderweisse this weekend. The plan is to bottle it in a few weeks, and let it age in the bottles until next summer. I ordered ingredients, including a vial of WLP630, and delivery is scheduled for today. My plan was to do a 1 liter...

    Alabama Homebrew Legislation 2013

The house doesn't have a computerized reader? Or is there something about this specific bill that makes it ineligible for that (not scanned in or something)?

    Alabama Homebrew Legislation 2013

[chairman]: I never have any idea what Mr. Holmes is going to do, Mr. Knight, and I don't think you do, either. ---------- Sometimes this $#!+ is pretty damn funny.

That bill was carried over, and they're about to break for lunch.

    Alabama Homebrew Legislation 2013

I think he meant SB108. They've been speaking about it contentiously for at least an hour. Either it will be withdrawn [edit: "carried over" is the proper term - sounds like they're discussing this option now] to sort some issues out behind the scenes, or it will be debated for a few hours more...

    All Galena Black IPA

Forgot to mention - I substituted Caraaroma for Carabelge because belge wasn't in 'smith and I didn't know what was a good substitute. I think my LHBS has belge. If not, it would be nice if someone knew what would make a good sub. Thanks!

    All Galena Black IPA

I've got a pound of 2010 galena hops I need to use, and my wife is expecting a baby in about two weeks, so I'd like to brew with them this weekend. The sticker says 11% AA, they're vac-packed, and they've been kept frozen. I've got an eight gallon brew kettle and a 10 gallon MLT, so my plan is...

Follow the suggestions in this thread, and you'll make a beer better than the real thing, IMO.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Thanks for the info, pvtschultz. My LHBS will be interested to know that; he thought he should have had some centennial when I came in looking for it, and was wondering why his supplier didn't ship it. I'll pass this info along to him.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I brewed this (modified) yesterday - my first all-grain batch. I hit a gravity of 1.042 and filled my bucket right to the 5 gallon mark. Modification - my LHBS didn't have centennial hops, and the cascade he had was 6.9%. So, I bought an ounce of that, and used a quarter ounce for each of the...

    Blue Moon Clone

Absolutely. Zest a couple of oranges (2-3 baseball-sized ones) and soak the zest in a couple ounces of vodka overnight. Throw it all in the bucket or carboy.
