    Yakima Valley hops

Hops Direct has Mosaic at $16/lb pellet or leaf, every day of the year? Every lb I've bought from them over the past few years has around 19 oz in it. I checked prices between them and YVH, and just about everything at Hops Direct was the same price or cheaper.

Legacy hops In a wheat beer

I recently bought a pound from hopsdirect, brewed a pale ale with em to test the waters, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! They are very furity, had an aroma and taste of POG (passion orange guava) juice. Since then I've brewed an IPA with them and centennial but it's carbonating. I think...

1st Hop Addition at 25 Minutes - IPA Feedback Request

Try using more hops, most of my good ipa's have at least 12 oz of hops, with 4 from 20-5 min, about 4 in a hop stand and 4 for dry hop. I think IPA's are one of the toughest styles to brew to expectations, just keep at it.

Want to build a recipe with Belma -

I found Belma to be a nice addition to a beer, but not a feature. It's as you said, "meh". I thought it was very soft and smooth, with a slight strawberry flavor and aroma. It would be very easy to overpower in an IPA. Motueka is about the only hop on your list I could see not overpowering...

Kegged and ran out of CO2, bottle time?

You could also add the proper amount of sugar to the keg if you don't filter your beer the yeast will carbonate the entire keg. Seems pointless to transfer to bottles and risks more oxidation.

    Likely infection, please advise

How were the cherries handled? Frozen or freSh? Also helps to keep the fruit submerged by gently stirring atleast once a day. Definitely some sort of infection but might still be drinkable

Brew Bucket by SS Brewing Technologies

there is definitely leftover buffing compound all over the surface of these, so a thorough first wash is important.

Strong Scotch Ale - 1.085 to 1.020 - repitch or RHAHB?

if you pitched onto an entire cake I don't think more yeast will help. i think she's done at that gravity

    2015 Hops

Early spring means crappy winter with no snow, so hopefully we'll have enough water at the end of summer to give to our hops

    Traveling brew kit

I've read a little about fermentation in a disposable bag, this might be easier to transport and allow for larger volumes of fermentation

    Brrrr Clone

brewed it yesterday, ended up using 2 oz simcoe and 3 oz cascade for the 15-5 min additions. used ringwood ale yeast I harvested from a previous batch. hopefully there's enough hop flavor and aroma.

    Yeast Start

got my 4L pyrex flask for $60 off ebay I believe, 2L are half the price on amazon. I don't lager so the biggest starters i make are 3L, but a 1L starter has A LOT of surface area which I like compared to using the 2L flask. However the 4L is more of a pain to cold crash because of its size.

    Brrrr Clone

I'm gonna do an all grain and use your hop schedule. Gonna throw in a lb more Munich but a little less crystal. My pipeline is pretty stacked and I have 2 brews on deck so I won't get to brew the Brrr for another 3 weeks.

    Brrrr Clone

I've been looking at trying to brew a Brr. How'd your hops turn out? Anything you would change about your additions? also 2 lbs of crystal seems like a lot to me, it's not too thick of a mouthfeel?

Broken Glass Carboy Horror Stories Compendium

I'm curious if anybody has experience with 5 gal glass carboys with the letters "ACES" and "GPD" embossed on the bottom? I can't really find any information about them myself. Curious where they're made etc. It was given to me by my grandpa when he got it from his brewer friend who passed away...

Wyeast 3333, is it normally a beast?

Very flocculent top cropping yeast, this is the cause for needing a blowoff tube it's normal. It's my favorite weizen strain, makes a great cristalweizen or dunkel.

Using a false bottom to separate trub and hops (?)

I use a "bazooka tube" type filter that threads into my kettle valve. It is off the bottom so scorching is not a worry, and I can pour full throttle out the valve into the bucket, but can only use whole leaf hops, pellets clog the screen. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Have some Corn Sugar laying around

Alcohol booster on a Belgian or something? Or use it to carbonate your next batch in the keg while you drink off the kegs hooked up to the gas. His way when a keg runs out the next one just needs to be chilled and it's ready to serve
