    Automated Keg/Fermenter Cleaner Concept

Hi Burn, I use a sump pump in a bucket for cip and keg washing and it works great. I have a hacked up 5 gallon bucket lid for the kegs they drain nicely into the bucket but I still put it on my sink for the splatter. I also modified 2 of my conical bases so I can fit the bucket under them and...

    "you won't save money homebrewing"

I like to compare brewing to mowing the lawn. Sure i could pay somebody to do it but its something thats relaxing and my mower will pay for its self compared to a landscaper, if I don't count the time spent. It's like brewing i find it relaxing and would much rather mow the lawn than do my...

    Brewing in a basement...ventalation question

If you haven't purchased the drywall yet you should get moisture resistant board its only $1-2 more per sheet and should cost the same to install.

    Brewing in a basement...ventalation question

Look for this thread in the electric brewing area: Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed. I haven't tried it but looks like an awesome idea.

50a panel vs 30a electric brewery

I would go with 50a. Its a lot easier to not use all the power you have than it is to add it later. It also saves a lot of time on days when you want to make two batches.

Don't get too wasted while brewing or this may happen

Kindof sounds like the magic trick pull the rabbit out of the hat, but pull the rabbit out of the boil kettle.

    E-Brewing video series

If you don't want do mess with any wiring, you can use a 240v pump or use the cheap solar dc pumps with a ac 240v to dc 24v power supply. You can use any component you want just make sure its able to handle 220 volts. I have been using the solar pumps for years with out problems. They work...

    Grain Mills

I vote roller mill. I had a corona style but didn't like the grind. I bought a cereal killer and have been happy ever since. They go on sale sometimes for $90 and its totally worth the extra $70 in my book. I use a old 18v battery drill to grind my 10-15 gallon batches. 55 batches so far with...

Grain mill old sewing table style

Your mill setup is sweet and I would be perfectly happy with how it's set up also. Having dedicated brew space makes brewing at least 1/2 million times better, maybe even 1 million. I plan on building from scratch but I'm more of a rough carpenter that trim carpenter so I was hoping someone else...

    Kegco Stainless CFC

I wish I could help but I bought mine off aliexpress and I made sure it was one with 1/2" fittings on all ports for camlocks. I would use the fitting that is tightest and silver solder it on if I were you.

Your telling me there hasn't even been one time while your brewing that you wouldn't want extra counter space? it seams like it should just take a couple hinges and a board if it's directly driven. Perfect for the off the grid folks :)

60A outlet questions for the electricians out there

I'm curious why you didn't go with 3 phase elements. Don't you get more heating per kwh with more volts?

    Invest in kegs or carboys?

I vote for the kegs. I've never liked the carboys too small of opening always fear of glass mixed with fluid flying everywhere, I can be real rough with my kegs and don't think twice. I just started making bigger batches so I can fill my conical and a keg to test out different yeast and I really...

Grain mill old sewing table style

I see all these awesome grain mill setups but I was wondering why nobody has thought to make one like an old sewing machine where the mill can go into the cabinet when not in use. It seams like it should be a great idea if you can figure out the mechanics. Think of all the extra counter space. I...

    Kegco Stainless CFC

Ya I think I remember seeing them last year but totally forgot about them when I was ordering a new one. Seeing these threads jogged my memory too bad Aliexpress isn't like Amazon with free returns. I would think if you run 3 of the stout ones you should be able to pump at a good rate. I can...
