    non-weld element hole plug?

Yeah totally makes sense. Thanks everyone.

    non-weld element hole plug?

When I thought I would switch to electric 100% of the time, I turned my previous outdoor brew kettle into my HLT, with a weld-less element installed. I've since switched to an ebiab setup, so the HLT isn't necessary. So I was thinking I may like to brew outside occasionally when the weather is...

    Illuminated toggle - 20A rated

This illuminated toggle on Ebay is rated at 20A at 120V. Is there a reason not to use this at $3, compared to the oft-used Auberins Illuminated button ($12) + contactor ($15)? Related question: If I have a 2000W element on a 110v line (18.2A), and do use switch with a 30A, 120V coil...

    On/off switch - necessary?

I'm in the process of putting together a small batch e-biab system, but have a question on the control panel build. There are countless builds on here, but for the most part, I've generally seen controllers with illuminated button switches for the PID, pump, and element, and an E-stop button...

110v Recirculating eBIAB 2.5 gallon batches

I'm interested in doing something very similar/identical to this, but I have one question on the controller build. Does one of the buttons act as the overall on/off switch? I'd prefer to plug in without anything being immediately on from the start. Or does it not matter?

Minimum kettle diameter for weldless fittings

Hey all, I'm looking to build a small 2.5-3 gallon eBIAB setup for test batches. I was interested in Northern Brewer's MegaPot or Tall Boy 8 gallon options, but someone left a review that the kettle's diameter (12.5") was too small and the kettle wall too curved for weldless fittings. Any...

    Ranco terminal screws

Yep, I see that now. Thanks!

    Ranco terminal screws

Yeah it's strange to me too. As you turn counterclockwise, it is pushing the connector bar down. But the screw head stays in place. So not your normal screws, I guess. I was able to get them all moving, but had to shave out plastic to make a wider opening in order to get a bigger flathead in...

    Ranco terminal screws

Tried both. I actually got one to move finally, so I know which way to go - counterclockwise to tighten. Anyway, that was my last screwdriver head that fit...and then that one bent trying the next screw. WTF? This is getting to be an expensive project!

    Ranco terminal screws

Anyone else have any trouble turning the screws in the terminal strip on the Ranco? I've bent one screwdriver and broken the tip off another, but haven't made the screws budge yet. What am I doing wrong??

    Simple "analog" e-brewing questions

Interesting. This 50A outlet is in my basement, right across from where the dryer is now. I wonder why they would have a range setup down there? Anyway, thanks for the reference to the spreadsheet. It confirms what I have expected - even boiling only 5 gallon batches (as anticipated), it's over...

    Simple "analog" e-brewing questions

Hey all, At the outset, I'll just be up front and say that I know there are tons of threads are out there on the subject, but my head is spinning from trying to find the "right" answer. I moved a few months ago to a new house and want to switch to e-brewing in the basement - I live in MN and...

Spotted Cow Extract Clone Help / Challenge...Will Donate $25 to HomeBrewTalk

Loving this thread. In fact, it got me - a forum lurker - to finally post. My question is directed mostly at wookiemofo, if you're still hanging around this thread (but I'd love feedback from anyone). How did your partial mash recipe compare to the AG? I'm still not equipped for a full AG...
