    Rose beer??

Yeah, there's too much "stuff" on the actual petals. I think you would need rose-infused vodka or real rose water/extract. Using the petals themselves post-boil is going to result in something funky if not infected.

    Where are you at INDIANA

Hello! Sellersburg here. Just spent a little time in Corydon over the weekend. How is Point Blank up there? I hear mixed things, and haven't had a chance to stop by.

    Gender and Taste

Similar to what you were saying, I think it's more of a social thing, though biologically, I could see justification for women being more sensitive to sweetness than men, similar to the differences in fat storage. I would postulate that this was to help women keep their weight up more...

    Gender Reveal Fruit Beer

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm not huge on raspberry or cherry so that's why I thought about prickly pear. It's supposed to have a nice mellow taste. Wheat does feel like the right way to go. Any thoughts on hops? I've heard that Saaz works very well with fruit beers, but I also thought...

    Gender Reveal Fruit Beer

So my wife is pregnant! That being said, I just recently got her interested in brewing, and she wants to do some sort of fruit beer as part of a gender reveal party. True, she won't be able to drink it, but I'm just happy that she's curious! My recommendation was blueberry for a boy and prickly...

Three more to add to that list! Apocalypse Brew Works, Against the Grain and Red Yeti, though I think Red Yeti is just getting started. http://apocalypsebrewworks.com/ http://www.atgbrewery.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Red-Yeti-Brewing-Company/317747291577977 There's a hell of a...

    Where are you at INDIANA

My name's Greg. I just started working at the Sellersburg office in Jan, but I spent a lot of time at the C'burg plant with Tracy when I started. Small world! Then again... this is a topic about Indiana.

    Where are you at INDIANA

Just caught this. I actually work for NetShape, which has a big plant in C'burg. You weren't kidding about that drive. Sounds like there's some good beer around Seymour though.

    Adjusting Pre-Boil Gravity Question

Adding thirty minutes to your boil wouldn't make a huge difference, but it would theoretically make your beer more bitter. There are a number of sites that can help you with the exact calculations, but each of them will give you a slightly different number. Either way, the longer you boil hops...

Congrats on getting back into it! Why the hiatus?

    Adjusting Pre-Boil Gravity Question

Provided that you could plan ahead for your hops additions, there's nothing wrong with boiling off some excess water to increase your OG, though I don't know if boiling off half a gallon would be enough to increase your OG by 0.006 or not as I'm just now learning the math. Either way, I don't...

Came up short on the boil. Quick question.

I'm a little mixed up on the 3.12 gallon thing, but you should be fine topping it off to 5 gallons, provided that the kit was intended to be a 5 gallon batch. You could even just top it off with some purified or distilled water if you wanted.
