This has been fermenting in primary for 9 days now and seems to taste ok but the top looks rather funky with solid floaty bits I'm just a little worried that it's infected!
Ok so my ingredients finally arrived in the post for this kit.
On hand i have 1kg dried spray malt which says it's a 1:1 replacement for sugar and I also have 1kg brewing sugar/dextrose. What would be the best combination for a brew around 5% ?
Halfway through bottling i noticed the white print on top of the coopers lids was coming off then look inside the lids and the white specs were inside. Obviously when bottling its been shook up into the beer :-(
will it be safe to drink ?

Anyway I think I will leave it another week at least! I don't want to mess up my 1st brew lol. I have a 23 litre fermenter bucket with no lid or airlock , would that be ok to start the canadian blonde?
Coopers austrailian lager 23 Litre using Brew Enhancer 1 with a starting gravity of 1.040.
Anyway everything took off great and managed to keep temp between 20-24 degrees but from day 5-7 it has been sitting at 1.015
Can anyone tell me if it's done fermenting and should I just bottle it...

The kit does call for sugar but I think I'll copy the home brewer that has videos on youtube with the name Craig Tube :-) He brewed the Canadian Blonde using 500g malt extract and 700g brewing sugar and it turned out really good according to him:drunk:

Currently brewing my 1st kit which is a coopers australian lager and as soon as it finishes I'm going to start up a Canadian Blonde which i collect tomorrow from Tesco.
Anyway I was thinking of using Youngs Brew Enhancer with it, Would this be suitable and would the alcohol content be good ;-)
