    SS Mashtun temp drop

Finally figured it out... It wasn't actually a problem with fermentability at all... I also purchased a refractometer at the same time as my new kettle and I wasn't aware until some research about fuzzy readings over the past couple days led me to see that FG readings on refractometers need...

    SS Mashtun temp drop

I guess that might be the case then, I'm not spot checking anywhere else. Weird though because I'm using a mash temp calculator and stirring the mash around pretty well to get the temp evenly distributed. I guess I'll try to insulate it too to see if it helps at all. Cheers! :mug:

    SS Mashtun temp drop

A few months back I purchased a stainless steel kettle with a thermometer, valve, and bazooka screen that I’ve been using as a mash tun (that was the intention when I bought it). (I think I remember reading somewhere they weren’t) Just wondering if I were to use that QD Carb cap, might it be possible to charge the container then disconnect the gas and attach a QD Tap for serving using...

    2 Liter Kegging Question

Hi, I have found a few threads here centered around adding a tire valve stem into a 2 liter soda cap and force carbonating with an air chuck. I am looking for a cheap and ‘fridge shelf friendly’ alternative to a full blown kegerator (Basically a DIY TAD) due to space limitations. I had an...

In-fridge shelftop kegging / force carb?

Thanks for the suggested process Bright. When you mention a filtering system, I’ve seen some $50ish in line systems that aren’t too expensive or difficult to use from what I’ve read: Beer and Wine Filtering Kit | MoreBeer Beer and Wine Plate Filter Kit | MoreBeer Are these not the same...

In-fridge shelftop kegging / force carb?

Hi, I’m fairly new to homebrewing as well as this forum. I have found a wealth of information on just about every topic I can imagine (and then some) and look forward to getting more and more into this hobby/lifestyle and hopefully eventually a familiar face on these forums. Here are a couple...
