    CO2 gone in no time.

Thanks for the replies. I'll source a new tank washer, crank the regulator on good and hope for the best. Getting frustrated by this one as I am sure it is at the regulator and hard to diagnose :(

    CO2 gone in no time.

For those using an 'extra' flat washer at the tank, do you still leave the rubber one that came with the TapRite regulator in? Long story short, I am on my 3rd new TapRite reg and when I close the tank and check valves I still slowly loose pressure on the high pressure side. Takes about 24 hours...

    Style suggestions for Hallertau Mittelfrüh

It is not all THAT different from a Pilsner, but I do a nice Helles with a single 60 min addition of MF. You could probably add some later in the boil to let them shine through a bit more.

Banana Split Recipe - how to add banana to beer

A local brewery did a Strawberry Banana Milkshake Sour IPA. They stewed the bananas and added to secondary (with strawberry pure). Was a tasty beer.

Help needed please - Coffin access panel

For what it is worth, my fan crapped out years ago and I never replaced it. I find very little, if any difference. But I also run very long lines at ~15ft of BEVLEX 3/16" ID line. It makes for a slightly slower pour at 10-15 sec for a pint, but it does come out perfect every time so I don't mess...

Carboy pressure transfer rig v2 w floating diptube

I just checked and the fermzilla floating tube would push into 1/4" ID tubing. I was able to get it in about 1/8" just by hand, but I bet if you put the end of the 1/4" tubing in boiling water to soften it you could get the smaller floating tube in a good inch or 2. I feel like that would hold...

C02 leak somewhere building a keezer.

You should consider dunking the 4 port manifold in water as well. Just use a big pot or cake pan or something it will fit in. If it is a small leak the soap / water may not fully detect it. Get any connection point under water that you can, give it a full 30 seconds to be sure. If none of those...

Help needed please - Coffin access panel

My seal is not even all that tight and I don't have issues. That is mostly on me for not working to make it tight, I'm sure if you had some weather stripping or rubber type gasket around the edge of the lid it would be VERY tight. You could always look for some small 90 degree latches if you...

Help needed please - Coffin access panel

Are you sure you only want it accessible at the back? Are you saying the top of the coffin would be fixed in place? Would make it pretty hard to disassemble the taps if you ever needed to (cleaning / leak, etc.). Mine just has a removable top with rigid foam insulation glued to the wood. Check...

noob thread wants to brew low alcohol brew

I'll disagree with you. Some new breweries are actually making some pretty good non-alcoholic brews these days. My wife is currently on medication she can't drink on and has been trying some no alcohol craft brews. The pale ale from Partake brewing is very good, if I did not know it was 0.5% I...

noob thread wants to brew low alcohol brew

If I was to do it, I would brew a full strength beer (5%) with lots of body. I am all grain and would use lots of dextrin malt, you could either steep that, or source Maltodextrin powder. Most decent homebrew stores should carry it, or look online. Then blend 50/50 with distilled / RO water...

    Hop Spider as a strainer

FWIW I do a short and shoddy type beer that I dry hop in a bucket fermenter. Instead of cold crashing and getting oxygen suck back, I use the same hop spider you describe by sticking it in the bucket and putting the syphon IN the spider. I have found trying to drain THROUGH the spider does not...

GF Recipe Builder - Crazy Numbers?

Maybe make sure your units are correct? I know I have entered stuff thinking I selected Oz/g but it was Lb/Kg and that will definitely send your numbers through the roof. You could also use the website instead of the phone app. They will sync from the site to your phone app.

How to get the "farmyard" into cider ?

Have you tried a Brettanomyces Bruxxellenis only fermentation? Did it once and came out almost too funky, but maybe what you are looking for? You could do a gallon test batch and call it a starter if you like it.
