    AG brewers in Oregon?

Specifically Eugene area. Looking to sit in on an experienced brewer's session hopefully soon. I've been brewing for about a year and just made my first AG batch Saturday. It went pretty well I think, but I am intrested in other's procedures and how they do things. I brew with a partner right...

Hoppiest commercial brew you have ever drank?

I haven't had any of the beers mentioned before, but of what I have had Alpha Centauri is my favorite, and Inversion Is a close second.

    All-grain brewpot question

I like them for the extra space to the top, that way I don't need to worry as much about boil overs. It's for peace of mind.

    All-grain brewpot question

Yeah, the next one I get will be 10 gallons or more and its not too far away. I had the brewing itch pretty bad yesterday, so I broke down and bought it, not wanting to wait for one to be shipped online.

Best bottle shop in northern Oregon (near I5 or 84)

The Bier Stein in Eugene has a lot of bottled beer selections from all over, as well as several beers on tap. Hop Valley makes very good beer, try the Alpha Centauri. Just don't eat their food.

    All-grain brewpot question

I ended up going with a 9 gallon Bayou Classic stainless steel pot that my lhbs had. Bought the ball valve conversion kit and used it as the mash tun this time. Eventually I wll get another just because I'm not all that big on aluminum, plus I lost a lot more volume during the boil than I had...

    All-grain brewpot question

I've boiled a few times with it now, and I got it from a friend who I'm assuming used it to fry turkeys. Never really asked though. I figure if I'm using it as a mash tun then any contamination would be taken away with a boil?

    All-grain brewpot question

Any negative effects of using aluminum for a mash tun?

    All-grain brewpot question

I'm looking for one that comes with the valve attached or that will attach easily, like with instructions. Preferrably ten gallons. Anyone know of a good deal on something like that? I looked on Amazon, they have a pretty good deal on an eight gallon stainless pot, but I would like to have more...

    All-grain brewpot question

I am making the jump to all-grain. Very excited. I already have an aluminum turkey fryer with a drain valve attached that I ran a couple test boils in and it worked like a charm on my gas stove. I have decided I want to use flame for the mash and am searching online for a nice pot to either mash...

    Reading material

I saw Brew Like a Monk in the store. It caught my eye, but i didn't pick it up. I will check it out next time. I only saw one book of the Classic Brewing Styles series. Is there more? possibly under a different name? I am mostly shopping Barnes and Noble online. I found out last night it is Much...

    Reading material

I will look up that one too. I hope to one day own my own brewery, which is why Brewing Up a business stood out to me. I of course will be reading other books about business and I am going to attend some brewing classes next summer. I just figured its more important for me to learn the art and...

    Reading material

I ended up going with Radical Brewing, Brew Ware, and Yeast. Radical Brewing sounds like a really fun read. Brew Ware I wanted so I could more understand the equipment and save money (hopefully) by building some of my own. Yeast, because lets face it, I should really understand the science of...

    Reading material

I'll look for them both. Hitting Barnes & Noble first (for the fiancee), if I don't see them there, hoping my LHBS will have them. I know they are online, but I don't buy online a lot. Thanks!
