Thank you for the reply. I bottled and corked the rest of my wine. Is using a rubber bung and then wiring it so it stays in place not the same as using a cork?

I tried finding if this had been posted. Perhaps I didn't read far enough. No matter, I shall ask. I have wired in solid rubber bungs into my gallon jugs in hopes that I will be able to allow this part of my batch to age a year or so. My question is , should I be using rubber bungs?

Have just joined. Been brewing wine for some time from kits. Am considering trying something from scratch or just homemade. Haven't done that and it seems interesting. If there is anyone making a red wine that goes good with a nice steak I am open to suggestions. Or if anyone thinks it is best...
