After another week or so of bottle conditioning, the "fruity" flavor has definitely tapered off and this brew tastes wonderful. Patience was the key for that.
The temp on my fermometer kept around 66-68. The Wyeast website says 60-66 will create mild citrus notes so I would venture to guess that may be it. It's not bad by any means just not what I was expecting.
Quick question. I brewed this one back at the tail end of January and just got around to bottling it a couple of weeks ago. This is only my 4th or 5th brew so go gentle on me on the next bit. I harvested yeast from SNPA bottles and made a starter with that. Stepped up just fine and pitched it...

This was my first AG/BIAB brew (coming from extract). Figured a simple recipe like this should make for a great first try. And since it seems to be a good brew, I'm excited for it. Hit my OG at 1.041.
Just bought my grains for this today. Gonna brew tomorrow as my first foray into AG/BIAB. Hoping it all turns out alright and even my BMC brother enjoys it.
A must. I'm still cooking on my electric stove doing the whole 5.5 gallons at once... It takes a good hour to get up to temp. Still scraping together pennies to get me an SP2 Double-jet, 210k BTU burner
