Grain Weevils in Bottles of Beer

Thanks for the replies! Yeah, during bottling I generally check to make sure the bottles are clean. There were a couple I caught and threw out, but it's quite likely I forgot to look at a bottle or two during the process.

Grain Weevils in Bottles of Beer

Hey guys, So, I made a hefeweizen for some friends, and one of them sent me this series of pictures of what I suppose are grain weevils from a bottle of my beer. I've looked for information about people finding them in the actual beer, but all I can really find are discussions about them...

    Rye PA Recipe (Critiques Welcome)

Cool, y'all. Thanks! I am a hop fiend, so I'll likely up the hops at the end of the boil (or flameout) and dry hop as well. As for the rye, I will definitely replace some of that rye with 6-row to bring it down to a better percentage. I think I must have tweaked some other things without...

    Saison Recipe Review (Extract)

Update: I finally brewed this recipe, yesterday morning, and it's chugging away now. My OG was 1.061 (target 1.062), so I'm happy about that. I've got it in a chest freezer (with temp control) and plan to increase temp by 2 degrees every day until I get to 74 ambient (probably 77-ish...

    Saison Recipe Review (Extract)

Thanks for all the suggestions! I could probably skip the steeping process, but it gives me time to organize my thoughts and get ready for the rest of the process. Estimated OG is 1.061, which is high but not outside the range (although I'm definitely pushing the limit, there). I'll be brewing...

    Infection in m Double IPA?

Thanks for helping to allay my fears, y'all. I'm really excited about this beer, now. Also, thanks to everyone on this website. I am a faithful reader, already, and I've learned an immense amount about brewing in a short period of time. I already can't wait to move to all-grain (as my wallet...

    Infection in m Double IPA?

Hey guys, This is my second batch, week 3 (first week in secondary). Does this look infected? If so, do you have any suggestion as to what it might be and/or how I might have infected it? I thought I was extremely careful about sanitation (much more so than with my first beer, which is not...
