Super tempting after getting eaten alive by mosquito brewing in my garage, I think I'm done. You're within driving distance also.
Do you have pics of the fermenters? Table, brew system, fermenters all included for 2k?
I brewed this today as my first lager. 5 (yes, 5) freezers in the garage and never done a lager. Go figure.
I modified a little bit, tettnang hops instead of the hallertauer in the recipe. 1.25oz to get to the IBU mark.
I also did a 3 stage decoction on this one, not because it was...
I have been an all grain brewer for about 2 years and have always done brew-in-a-bag. I started off just wrapping the kettle in some moving blankets, then eventually built a PID controlled RIMS rig, now I've completed what I believe to be the final version of it save for some modifications to...
Did you do the welding? If so what would it take to get you to weld something on there for a sight glass as well?
Can a diptube be fitted on the inside?
I've purchased from this guy as well, he is legit and the kegs are great for the price. I wish I would have asked him for kegs with all metal lids, as some of them i got from him are plastic. They work fine though.
Picked it up at DiCarlos in Mundelein. Binnys doesnt carry it anymore for some reason. Had to pay a full $100 deposit on the keg. Apparently lots of out of towners were getting kegs, shipping them home full to enjoy, then never returning the kegs so they had to up the deposit on the keg.
I will also add that I currently have a keg of this in my basement and I will be drinking about half of it then counter pressure bottling the rest. I'd be happy to do a side by side at some point.
I had the same issue when building my RIMS. I opted for this instead:

Just stumbled upon this thread. I emailed the brewer a couple months ago to try and weasel some insight out of him because I was just generally curious as to what went into this incredible beverage. Here is his response:
Will,
I can tell you we use all natural ingredients and never an...
Hey all, I just kegged this, I brewed it about 4 weeks ago.
I've had my fair share of 3fzd, and have a case of it in my fridge right now as well and I'll say that this is very close however it is too bitter still, with a lingering bitterness that the real thing doesn't have. The aroma...
At this point I dont really remember how much I used, although I know I did not use an extract but rather high quality beans scraped and soaked on vodka for a couple days. I want to say it was around 4 or 5 whole beans.
