    Interesting news for GF Homebrewing

I don't personally brew GF anymore, but I still get newsletters from some GF suppliers. Here's one that caught my eye I thought I'd pass along... Email from glutenfreehomebrewing.org, says: "...We have dropped a few hints over the last couple years about a possible malt extract. Well, we...

    all 3 grainfather beers cloudy?

This topic was covered pretty well already here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=396754 But essentially, your cooling rate is fine, but maybe try giving it a 1-2 hour cold break and rack off wort to fermenter leaving break behind. Again, already lots of naysayers, but science...

    all 3 grainfather beers cloudy?

Cold break chill haze. It's voodoo speak to some but worth reading about.

    Concrete Roller Mill

Ah, well... Since the only ingredients in concrete are stone ag, silica sand, portland cement and (maybe) lime, I'd say the only negative would be the < .0n% chance of pH getting skewed by the lime, this would be a very low risk though. People ingest more concrete living near a quarry or cement...

    Concrete Roller Mill

Can you elaborate on your contamination concern? I'm a little confused by it. Contamination from, and, of what exactly?

    Concrete Roller Mill

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdvGtujJ8C8 Good luck! Hope it goes well. fwiw, I'd stay away from pressure-roller type mill design and look to an adjustable buhrstone style or impact as they're far more adjustable than pressure rollers.

IMHO: Quit wringing your hands and be *that guy* who either succeeded or failed with it ;-) Just be sure to post up DIY and results :rockin:

    Homebrew Store in Stockton, CA

I think Fat City is still around... You may want to check with homebrew clubs in the area to see what LHBS's are around and what people are actually looking for in a LHBS. Good luck!

What Gluten Free Beer are you brewing this weekend?

That Summer Light Lager didn't last long; so this weekend I'm off to the races with run #2 of American Amber Ale BIAB... 1st run was really good, but I over carb'd so ended up with some gushers. Won't make that mistake again :mug: Brew Method: BIAB Style Name: American Amber Ale Boil Time...

    Seriously? 56% efficiency? Seriously?

gustavohmsilva- Yes, his is a Maltbite, although his rollers are knurled, not lines. Just a suggestion if you want knurls: Take yours apart and bring the rollers to a metal fabricator. It'd be a very simple job to turn the lines into knurls... Probably a $10 job. I bet if you bring some...

    Seriously? 56% efficiency? Seriously?

gustavohmsilva, I have a cousin in Argentina who has that mill. His rollers are knurled, which from your picture makes it slightly different from yours. He only has problems with it when he mills using his 3/8 inch rechargeable drill. It seems to work better with more power. When he borrows a...

Brewing an IPA next weekend, here is the plan

Looks good! Personally, I'd move the whirlfloc to 5 minutes since Irish Moss tends to break down in boils longer than 10 minutes, significantly reducing its effectiveness. Also, on the dry hop: The last few GF's I brewed, I swirled the fermentor a couple times a day. This drastically...
