For what it's worth I've got Zeus and Nuggets planted in great soil and they get plenty of sunlight. My Nuggets went completely crazy and are producing loads of cones, my Zeus is maybe only 5-6 feet tall now and isn't nearly as strong or as vigorous as the Nuggets. Might just take longer to...
Sooo.... I'm learning a lot about brewing lately. :drunk:
Ended up modifying the recipe at the LHBS at the last minute, and it turned out quite differently than I had intended.
I had my volumes screwed up in brewers friend. I only boiled down to around 6 gallons because I was planning...
Thanks St Pug. Ended up modifying the recipe at the LHBS, and screwed up my volumes lost vs volume into fermenter.
I rehydrated two packets of S-04 and used servomyces and oxygen. Wort was bubbling away really well this morning.
Thanks St Pug, I know there are basically a billion different yeast options! Haha I pulled the recommendation of S-04 from a northern brewer RIS recipe.
I'm trying to make a clone of Central Waters Peruvian Morning.
It is a fairly light bodied beer, its a BA coffee added stout, not...
Thanks for the advice osagedr and cheezydemon3!
I've managed to bung up enough things lately, so I will play it safe and just pitch the 2 packs of rehydrated yeast. Looks like it should be enough cells to get the job done!
NEXT time though! NEXT time!
It's about 6 months until the deep dark embrace of midwinter in Wisconsin takes ahold of us in it's icy grip. And I'm wanting to brew something to spread warmth and cheer!
There are a great many delicious BA Stouts with coffee, but PM happens to be one of my favorites. Not over the top...
This is one of those events that highlights my well polished planning skills. :D
Honestly I wasn't really sure what I was going to brew... My plan was to just dump the yeast, but I put together a recipe and I figured with the high OG, I would be better off using the yeast cake if I could...
I racked a low gravity brown ale off Safale S-04 yeast cake in my 6 gallon glass fermenter on Monday night this week. I am planning on brewing a 1.092 OG Imperial Stout on this coming Sunday, and I would like to just dump the fresh wort onto the yeast cake I've got.
I racked MOST of the...
I ha have polished off the first case and then some of my first 5 gallon batch of this with the family. It is light, clean and refreshing! Followed the recipe and came out at 1.042. I was a bit surprised at the citrus flavor in it though-reminds me of a shandy almost.
Is the beer supposed...
+1
Of course, you could say you want to brew a proven recipe that sounds good to you, three times in a row in order to get good at nailing that recipe - that would be a great plan!
I've gone all in 110% over my head so many times...eventually i started listening to people who tell me to...
Good deal, sounds like it might be a good way for me to go.
Do you press down pretty hard on your basket with it tied off? I suppose if everything I use is sturdy enough it should be fine, but I'm a bit leery about it.
