    Odd question - unbottling/debottling

Thank you for all the responses. I have no problem letting it sit, but obviously my curiosity got the best of me this weekend so I popped one of the bottles open. I'll closet it for a while and see what happens.

    Odd question - unbottling/debottling

I may have just made up a new word (or two). To make a long story short, we added way too much apricot extract to my IIPA. It's been in bottles for about 10 days, and the flavor is too cough syrup like. Question is, can we open the bottles, pour back into a carboy and dry-hop to try and...

    Took a trip to DFH

SWMBO owns a condo on in Ocean City, MD so I get to hit the rehobeth brew pub every couple of weeks, but I've yet to get all the way out to the main facility. Because our trips are always last minute "hey let's go to the beach for the weekend" the tours are always shown as completely booked.

    Brewers best ?

I brewed this kit on Wednesday. Everything needed is included.

    Second Brew

Holy cow. I guess I could spare another few bucks for another fermenter. Does it seem impractical or hazardous (to the beer) to transport a fermenter approx. 30 mins in the back of a car?

    Hey All! (Quick Question)

Quick update: Smells and tastes righteous! Gravity readings have been consistent but I think i'm gonna let it sit another couple of weeks in the secondary. Instead of rushing to bottle this one, i'll just keep making more :)

    Second Brew

After my first batch was (seemingly) successful, My girlfriend and I started on a milk stout kit from Brewer's Best. It's amazing to see the difference in ingredients/timing and how BLACK this looks compared to my IIPA recipe. I took some pictures of the process, i'll attach them later when...

    Sam Calagione on "Beer Geeks"

To get this out of the way at the beginning: I love DFH. Burton, 90, 120, and hellhound just "do it" for me. Why should I (or anyone else, for that matter) care about what someone else thinks with respect to their personal taste? I get that some people may not be able to justify the price...

    Next beer suggestion

So, it's getting close to bottling time for my first brew! From taste tests so far, it seems the Brewer's Best Arrogant Bastard kit is going to deliver. After we (SWMBO and I) bottle, we're going to get the next batch going. For sake of ease and convenience, we'll probably stick with...

Just moved to secondary, isn't settling like I had hoped

Thanks - I was envisioning a layer of jello at the bottom of my carboy lol. I was thinking "man, that must be difficult to clean out".

Just moved to secondary, isn't settling like I had hoped

This may be a stupid question, but if i moved it outside (say, to my garage) while we have a 40-degree streak for a few days, would that work? I too would be interested in clearing up my beer, and I fear using gelatin would be too much of a pain to clean out of a glass carboy.
