New update on this beer and estrogen thing

So I was on a diet from August 'til December or so... and lost a ton of weight ~ 45 lbs. I didn't have any beer on this diet at all...! Well... since then, I have been drinking beer again (and some whiskey here and there). And now, almost 5 months later, I'm a solid 38B. I swear... if it...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I've never had a chourico flavored beer! How was it?

    Midwest Supplies

It's tough for those of us who are computer / security savvy to judge what the average user does. I can agree with that 95% of uses have experienced some sort of virus or other invasive software. That doesn't mean that these users have CC problems because of them. Most of this malicious software...

Hops Tea. It's a bad choice....

I'm interested! What variety of hops did you use? What size cup of coffee (I use 2 k-cups of dark roast coffee for 20 oz)? Is it good iced (I use 1 k-cup & 1 tea spoon instant espresso, 10 oz in a 24 oz Tervis cup filled w/ ice)? Do you filter the hops or just add the pellets to the mug? I...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I was there when they had a bunch of Cantillon available. To date Iris at REAL is the most expensive single beer I've purchased, but well worth it - luckily per diem is good in Honolulu.

WTF is a "real" beer? Is that like CAMRA? I've had it. It isn't bad, but it's very, very smoky. I've had other rauchbier I couldn't drink - this one I could.

Belgian Dark Strong Ale The Pious - Westvleteren 12 style quad - multiple

Wow! Good answer :mug: Wish I had that sort of set up ;) How much would the yeast's heat overpower air cooling? I only used heat and a cool basement (supplemented with ice and fan) to limit the yeast on either end. I don't use evaporative / wet cooling because it's difficult to control, but I...

Belgian Dark Strong Ale The Pious - Westvleteren 12 style quad - multiple

Dang... (w/ confirmed, local buyers)...at that price I'd sell the rest of my brick! It would be painful... but I now have 5 gal of CSI's recipe in the keezer and it's great (though still under carbonated). BTW... I found my carboy with its bung popped (the heat must have built up enough...

Using keezer to control fermentation / casked beer chamber?

    Any serious responses?

Using keezer to control fermentation / casked beer chamber?

Are there any problems with putting in a duct from your keezer (set at ~1°F) into a fermentation and/or casked ale chamber? My thought is to set up the keezer with a duct to an insulated secondary chamber. The duct would be controlled w/ PC Fan and temp controller. The 2nd chamber would be kept...

    2013 NHC first round results?

Just like the old beer adage: it's always "up" somewhere.

    Plum beer?

I say go for it... Wheat beer would be good, or a blond, etc. Something to showcase the special addition. Things to keep in mind: 1. I don't know the ingredients of the drink - if it's all plum juice you're good to go. If there's sugar you could probably get more flavor from fruit than juice...
