    Is this normal?

I was talking with a local Brewmaster here in Winston Salem, and describing my situation. He offered that because my steep temperature was too high, I might have affected the starches and sugars to the effect that the yeasties don't have enough to eat. Additionally, I moved my fermenter away...

    Is this normal?

Nope. Definitely not in my right mind. But, I did move my fermenter.

    Got it. Moved.

    Is this normal?

Yes, pellets were used. 1oz. Chinook, and 2oz. Citra, at 15min intervals during boil, pitched yeast at 75°. The recipe is called Plain Jade Single Hopped IPA, so I guess the green is part of it.

    Is this normal?

So, I started a new batch a couple of days ago. An IPA. All grain. I know I had too high a temp with my steep, but everything else went ok. The yeasties started doing their thing, but now seem to have stopped or at least slowed way down. It bubbles, but very slowly. There is a greenish scum...

    Winston-Salem, NC checking in!

Hey all! I've been on this forum for since December, but never did an introduction. So, here it is. I'm Kurt, and I just did my second batch last night. An IPA. My first attempt at all-grain brew. This is a great site and I am having a lot of fun so far!

    How long do I have?

WHEW! Thank you! I just brewed my second batch last night, an IPA, which is my first attempt at all grain brewing. I pitched the yeast at about 10:30pm, and went to bed. I got up around 3am for a drink of water and saw absolutely zero activity, and a lot of sediment at the bottom. I saw this...

    New to brewing

Hey flars. Your advice was spot on! I got thirty three bottles aging in the basement now. Racked like you said. Didn't stir up the trub (is that right? New word for me.) layer at all. Thanks again!

    New to brewing

Hi all, and Merry Christmas eve! I'm Kurt, and I have my first batch going into the bottles tonight. I have a conundrum. I bought a BSG kit, with the carboy and bottling bucket and all the other goodies. I read that the carboy was used for further, ie. additional fermentation, so I used the...
