I brewed an oatmeal stout a couple weeks ago that I intend to serve on nitro for the first time. I did as much research as I could on the process and this is basically what I came away with:
1. Brew and ferment beer
2. Transfer to keg and carb with pure CO2 to ~1.2 vols
3. Then switch to beer...

I ferment in a 14 gal conical. I happened to purchase the leg extensions for it so the racking port is higher than my keg. On kegging day, I just put my keg underneath the racking port and gravity fill. Could I still benefit from pressure transferring because O2 is being sucked into...
Thanks so much for the input! I cant remember exactly how many cells... it was in the 350 billion range for a 5 gal batch that ended up being just over 4. I did do a single decoction on this so it is very possible that some of the flavors I'm getting are expected.... maybe what's throwing me off...

First post here. Brewed a Bohemian style Pilsner using Weyerman’s floor malted Bohemian pilsner malt recently and am a little disappointed to find a detectable amount of banana-like esters (also possibly DMS… I don’t think I’m very adept yet at picking out...
