    Winerator Build

Yes, I make the wine I dispense in the barrel using kits from online retailers. I'm not aware of any kegged wine sellers, but they may be out there. Thanks! I bought the Festool sander and a vacuum specifically for this project. As you've noticed, I have a carpeted "woodshop" so I wanted to...

You got it day_trippr! I'm dispensing cold brews from my keezer :) Thanks guys and gals!

    Winerator Build

Hi all! I've been a homebrewer and member of the forums for a number of years, but haven't been too active. I've gleaned a lot of great information and inspiration from these forums over the years and thought I'd give back by posting my winerator build. I hope you enjoy! This build was a fun...

Keezer build question -- Keep the Drain Plug?

You could drain the keezer by tipping it on its side, which is more of a pain than using the drain. A mop is too big and unwieldy to fit into the corner with all the kegs in the keezer.

Keezer build question -- Keep the Drain Plug?

I use the drain on mine every few months. It seems like all the sudden a quart or so of murky water builds up in that corner so I just pop off the plug and let it drain (the keezer is outside). I could also easily soak it up with some paper towels if it didn't have a drain so you may prefer to...

    Keezer build prelim.

The beer lines to the taps will probably reduce how far you can slide your proposed lid off and may be annoying if they catch on items in the keezer.

    Kegerator Duhumidifier

2 Eva dry 500 dehumidifiers work well for my ~14-15 ft^3 keezer and I open it at least once a day.

Cure for beer flavored sparkling water

Yes, I've replaced all four ring/gasket parts in the tap. The tubes are brand new as stated. I've completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned all parts so there is nothing but metal and gasket. The tap and shank are all old chrome plated brass with lots of brass exposed. I have treated them...

    pressure vs carbonation

True, but the decrease in volume of the liquid is completely negligible compared to the decrease in volume of the gas. Liquids for the most part are "incompressible." The main culprit is the beer absorbing the CO2. If you want to store your beer without it being constantly hooked up to gas...

Cure for beer flavored sparkling water

Thanks guys, but I already replaced all the o-rings. Also, I would suppose there is beer flavor contamination from beer to beer too, but it is undetectable.

Reattaching the handle portion of a corny keg

+1 gorilla glue + clamp/weight Also, be around to wipe away the glue that bubbles out.

Cure for beer flavored sparkling water

I keep a keg of sparkling water for the girlfriend, but after seemingly exhaustive efforts to thoroughly clean the entire system, the water still has a slight beer taste. So far, I've thoroughly cleaned the keg including disassembling and cleaning the posts and poppets, have brand new...

    Tower shanks

The cheapest place I've found for shanks and the like is http://rapidswholesale.com especially if you buy in bulk. Good luck!

    kegerator idea validation

Gotcha. Sorry, for some reason I apparently didn't understand your first post correctly. The box is going to be in the way of the lid when you open it so my ideas for that are: 1) Put the "box" surrounding the freezer on wheels so you can slide it out of the way when you open the freezer. 2)...

    kegerator idea validation

You could: 1) Turn the freezer around 2) Mount the tower facing the rear 3) Open the lid away from the wall The only problems are the rear usually isn't as good looking as the front and the inside contents can only be accessed from the sides. The up side is that it costs nothing. Good luck!
