    Controller - Stainless Enclosure

Thanks for all of that. I will look into the mypin and see what it is all about. I want to keep things simple for my first build and will probably stick with a PID but who knows. Yeah I was reading a bunch yesterday about different electronic components and heard that the footer SSRs blow...

    Controller - Stainless Enclosure

Hey, Yeah that was my plan. Use a controller for 1 of the elements and a pump and then just simply plug in the other element on a different GFCI circuit and then unplug when I reach Mash temp. I would then do the same thing for the boil. I am just looking for info to build my controller. Been...

    Controller - Stainless Enclosure

Thanks, those look pretty good! I found this one here which is pretty close to the dimensions of the grounded brewing box and for $130: https://store.solutionsdirectonline.com/984x787x591-stainless-steel-enclosure--snb-3730-ss-p9136.aspx I can probably make one with more features for around...

    Controller - Stainless Enclosure

Hey, I originally was going to buy a prebuilt controller for my EBIAB build but it turns out my dad is pretty handy with electronics. I want to build a nice looking controller similar to that found here: https://www.groundedbrewingtechnologies.com/products/30a-biab-control-panel Mine will be...

Using a Jaded Hydra with a 7GPM pump instead of garden hose

On their site they said they used 58 degree water to achieve that.

Using a Jaded Hydra with a 7GPM pump instead of garden hose

I guess the average bathtub holds around 70-80 gallons of water (Max capacity). I always shower and quite quickly. All of these immersion chillers use under 20 gallons. Not saying you shouldn't be conscious of water usage, but it kinda puts things into perspective...

Using a Jaded Hydra with a 7GPM pump instead of garden hose

Yeah I hear ya. Its half about conserving water and half about cooling things down fast.

Using a Jaded Hydra with a 7GPM pump instead of garden hose

Yeah I was thinking about switching buckets instead of recirculating back into the original cold bucket. I heard people say that they cooled their wort using the hydra and like 15-18 gallons of water. I was hoping to use maybe 10 gallons of water to cool the wort if it was that much colder say...

Using a Jaded Hydra with a 7GPM pump instead of garden hose

Hey, So I guess for the hydra they recommend a 6GPM flow rate thus people use their garden hose rather than a kitchen faucet. I don't have access to a garden hose in the winter and am wondering if I could just have source water, IE a big container full of water and use say a Riptide pump to run...

    Brew Basket questions

Yeah, WBCo gave me the idea. If I go with a 20g kettle I won't need the spacer as the diameter is big enough but with the 15g I will have to. The main thing is that they are on the same level so I can make the basket that much bigger.

    Brew Basket questions

The only reason I can think of would be access to a proper plug-in. If you don't have access to a dryer 30amp outlet you have to go with smaller wattages. The most common is an element that runs around 1650 watts (15 amp outlet) or an element that runs at 2250 watts (20 amp outlet). Using the 2...

Whirlpool pipe - What is the process after the boil?

Oh, one other thing. I am not 100% set on an IC yet. I could be swayed to get a CFC, still researching everything.

Whirlpool pipe - What is the process after the boil?

Hey, I plan on getting a Norcal whirlpool pipe for my setup. It will run from the top of the kettle TC port down near the bottom. I also plan on getting a Jaded hydra IC. I am trying to figure out how the whirlpool is done when brewing. Here are a few things I can think of but I am not sure...

    E BIAB Parts List

Hey, Thanks for the info. With the basket it may be difficult to have the whirlpool arm hooked up all the time as there is little space between the basket and the kettle. I have talked to a few people that use 1 upper port for recirc, steam slayer, and whirlpool.
