Trying this recipe this weekend I noticed lots of fermentation posts but no tasting notes? So, how did it turn out?!?

Does Irish Ale dry out the stout or does it have a nice finish? Also, why vodka? I was thinking of soaking the nibs in bourbon. Just curious if the vodka adds anything. Thanks for the recipe by the way

What yeast did you use?

Brewing this on Sat but will substitute Breiss for Rahr due to inventory...it should be dead on though, right?

As anyone had any luck with the Perlick tap handle locks? I have seen very mixed reviews and they are pretty pricey... Any clever DIY ways to secure the taps from curious little fingers?

I went with the braid trying to take the less expensove DIY route, but after several batches I spring for a false bottom and I did see an improved efficiency (I fly sparge) The mash tun was easier to thoroughly clean out too

I tried it, its got krasen funk flavor...pretty gross

Has anyone bought from this guy? I wanted to know if his kegs are in good shape and if it's worth the ride out there.

New guy here I've got 4 5 gallon batches done (ipa, red ale, vanilla stout, pale ale) and made the move from mini mash to all grain this weekend!
