Hey everyone. Tons of great insight in this conversation!! Just wanted to toss in a few clarifying points in regard to my original post. I am pretty easy going in regard to beers. I don't expect a beer to be the "best ever" each and every time. I will drink darn near anything if it's halfway...

Yes to all of this! I have been sick of disgusting IPA's for years now. This area is oversaturated with them big time!! Glad i am not alone in my disenchantment...

Sorry, i have really been taking issue with the term "craft beer" lately. It reminds me too much of man buns, hipsters, pumpkin spice and ironic trucker hats...you get the idea. It's my own ridiculous issue...i will get therapy for it 😛

Well, i do plan to make a profit at some point. I am trying to ease into this thing and learn as i go...not expecting to profit for a while and keeping my expectations realistic. No debt here...i own all my stuff and trying to keep overhead as low as possible as well as keeping my day job...

Well...after reading that tale of bureaucratic nighmares. ..maybe i am better off selling plastic solo cups at a kegger in the park in the middle of the night. 😞 I will keep doing my homework. Maybe Washington state isn't as bad as Massachusetts....

OK, so I got a mini fridge to use as a fermentation chamber (using it with an ST-1000 temp controller). I did a little surgery to the hump....unbolted the compressor, moved it back, then notched out the hump (about 12" wide x 4" deep). I built a partial box out of some roofing flashing and...

Got someone to sell me a fridge!! Had the option of an old, beat up one for free....or a newer, cleaner one for $75. I went the $75 route and my gut tells me that was the right move. Today is a success! Gonna get this baby home and LET IT SIT UPRIGHT for a good long while BEFORE I plug it in ;)

OK, great news! Hopefully the people selling fridges will have more follow-though than the freezer folks. Nobody will take my money, it seems..... :(
