New problem: I just went into the garage and checked. I don't have enough bottles to bottle this stuff. I was going to bottle some as wine and some as carbonated cider. I can order more on Amazon but that will take days. And by that time the yeast will have eaten the FAJC i threw in. So what...
I just backsweetened. I did it last night and dumped it in a 5 gallon container. Do you think the leftover yeast has already eaten the sugar in one day? Can I still bottle today?
Yeah, the instructions say to backsweeten then pasturize as soon as I add the concentrate.
Also, if the advice is to rack it, I have a 5 gallon container. Can I put 4 gallons into a 5 gallon container or will the remaining air not be good for it?
Ugh, now I feel super dejected. The instructions call for a can of frozen apple juice concentrate per gallon as a backsweetener. Would it be ok to add 2 per gallon you think?
Question. My cider has stopped bubbling. It's been about 10 days. 3 of them have cleared up nicely but the 4th (bottom left) is still cloudy. Same exact ingredients went into all. Is there a problem with it? Should it be tossed?
It has been a week now and the wine still hasn’t cleared after putting in the superkleer. Should I put in more? It has also completely stopped bubbling.
So this is what it looks like 5 days after adding Superkleer. I thought it should be almost crystal clear by now :(.
On the plus side, my hard apple cider is looking like it’s time to bottle
So I added the superkleer 3 nights ago. About one hour into it I saw action (particles moving around) the. Then next day fermentation started again and now it’s still going. Is that normal? It wasn’t bubbling at all when I added the stuff.
Thank you!!! Just ordered superkleer on amazon. Gonna use it as soon as it arrives. Strawberry wine has not started fermenting again so I think it’s done. Gonna use the superkleer, let it sit, backsweeten, drop campden tabs, then wait a week and bottle.
