I am making two hefes and one with coriander and grapefruit and other with coriander and orange peel or zest. What do you think about the amounts I should add for a 6 gallon? What kind of orange peel did you use? Also should I use more grapefruit since im not since orange peel in that one?

Nice information. I am needing to do this cause I blow one of my stc controllers. My only question is that I have 2- 2000 watt heating elements. Will this be able to work. What short of relay would I need. I think I'm need a 30A?

No one was hurt. No wires melted the only thing that happen was inside the actually stc-1000. I used 14 gauge wire. I plan on ground the elements. But do you think they are to much for the controller?

So this weekend I used a DIY electric heating system for my HLT for the first time. I used a STC-1000 controller with 2- 2000W , 120 v hot water heating elements. When I had the 2 element plugged in the controller the display dimmed a little and kind of flickered. It also would say 888 or BBB...

Thanks for the info. It got me thinking more. I really appreciate it. So i redesigned it a little. What do you think? Would this work for a 3.5 bbl system? I am more concerned with the mast tun. Would this work or would the wort be scorched?

I would have to say my setup up from time to time is ghetto. I use a truck, boxes, chairs, ect hahahah. I guess you can say I use my resources, but it works and does not matter what you use as long as it come out drinkable.
