Hey Meridianomrebel, It's a thin liquid layer that sticks to in this case the thermometer so it doesn't really break up. It smells fine. It's 2 weeks in primary.

I know it's a popular question among us newbies but I'm kinda worried about my pilsner being infected. Would you guys check out the photo's and let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I am new to home brewing and have a Coopers Dark Ale kit that has been sitting in primary for 11 days at roughly 24 degrees. I checked it tonight for the first time and it has "stuff" floating on top, i dont think its Krausen but just wanted to make sure. I've attached a pic. Thanks...
