Soaking Cacao nibs and vanilla in Whiskey

If you have a stir plate, put the whisky/coco nibs on that and let it stir for a week. Better extraction

    Inkbird ITC-106 Manual Control

Ok, so I bought an inkbird 106 with the intention of using PID control for mashing and manual mode for boiling. Once I got I hooked up, even with the (totally useless) manual I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it into manual mode. Turns out the operation mode needs to be in...

Soaking Cacao nibs and vanilla in Whiskey

I recently did this with rum and I had someone pick out the rum flavour on the first sip. No complaints, tasted good, but you will definitely taste it. Either acquire some vodka or be ok with the whiskey flavour in your beer.

Sugar wash for co2 during zombie apocolypse.

Yup, in days gone by, carbonation was not a thing. Just flat warm beer. Mmmmm beer. Now that we k ow about such things, beer will never be the same without a good head!

Sugar wash for co2 during zombie apocolypse.

This thread is perfect. Ok, so my though is during the zombie Apocalypse I would unfortunately probably switch back to bottle conditioning... But if I were trying keg and force carbonate my first thought is that there would be hundreds of easily accessible CO2 tanks you could scavenge from...

    44q Bayou Classic electric element?

Oh really, less than 13". That means that the 5500w ripple element should fit the 44 quart Bayou classic then. Thanks Bobby

    44q Bayou Classic electric element?

Ya I love the steamer basket that comes with these pots. I use that as a false bottom and use it to support my grain bag. I think the 62 quart Bayou classic is a bit wider than the 44 quart variety, so I'm not sure that this element is going to fit my pot. I've sent the folks at brew hardware...

    44q Bayou Classic electric element?

Hey guys, I need to get an electric element for my 44 quart Bayou classic. I was considering the 5500w ripple element kit from brew hardware: https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/elementkit_tcrip_wl.htm But I'm not sure if it'll fit. Does anyone have this setup? How does it fit? What is...

    Jasmine in Belgian Witbier

I did a quick Google search, and found this on Amazon.ca: https://www.amazon.ca/TooGet-Fragrant-Natural-Jasmine-Wholesale/dp/B075TDC9NJ $16.99 CAD for 2oz, kind of expensive, but maybe 2oz is all you need... On a side note, I noticed in the description that these could be used for all your...

    Jasmine in Belgian Witbier

I've never tried this, but if I were going to I would probably avoid boiling the tea. I'd whirlpool at a lower temperature during the cooling process so as to not boil off the delicate aroma then dry hop too, for added flavour. This website says that the best temp to brew Jasmin tea is about...

Too much priming sugar, possible solution?

Ya, that could work, but I'm not sure on the details. Another thought might be to wait till your beer is sufficiently carbonated. Wait a couple days, cool one down and drink it and see if it's ok. If it's carbonated enough then pasteurize the rest. Your beer will be sweeter than expected this...

My mash temperatures are out of control

It sou.ds to me like you are having two problems. First you are not correctly calculating your initial strike volume and the second problem is controlling the temperature. With regards to the volume you should use a calculator to make a good guess at all the various water volumes along the...

    Hops clogging poppet

Haha yup. I do it some times. It goes on just fine... It's getting it off that's the problem ;-)
